2 /5 AMA: My family had a consultation with an attorney a few years ago. She was fantastic, informative, articulate.
We then asked with their help recently on one specific item. They required another (paid) consult. This person was bright, but honestly seemed to intentionally complicate everything. It’s possible she’s just not as good of a communicator as the first. She barely touched on our question. At the end she said she’d send a follow up email (I had to remind her after a week) to go over what we talked about, along with a quote for what we need help with.
They will not let us pay them to help us with one item. They’ll only help us with that if we pay a very large upfront fee-followed by an hourly rate-to help us with everything. Disappointing, I was so impressed the first time.
We found an attorney that will assist with only what we need them to for a mere fraction of the price.
