    Penny Cory: When we were married over 25 years ago, I was aware that the terms of my husbands divorce from his ex had provisions for a lifetime commitment to retain a life insurance policy to protect her from loss of income from his retirement, should he die before her. He has kept that commitment for 25+ years. As it has turned out, we all have lived beyond normal life expectancy, and the policy that has been in effect, is expiring, and he has become uninsurable except for a very few Insurance Companys, whose rates, if paid, would reduce his income to below poverty level. After calling some legal firms, who said we were "stuck", I talked to my brother, who was going through a divorce, and he suggested we call Pacific Northwest Family Law. When we called, the reception was very different!! We explained our situation and soon were introduced to Ms. Green, who understood and undertook the task of researching and developing a solution. Our case is still in process, and we feel confident that the outcome is going to be a much better circumstance than what we were facing.

    Crystal Moore: First I will state the good, Melissa spoke very professionally to me and was very nice. She listened intently to my concerns and made me feel very heard. I paid Melissa 410$ for a one hour consult. I was told they would not take a contested case. I let Melissa know that my case though the other party may not be happy, would not be legally contested. I was feeling very hopeful about my case being taken on by this firm due to how thorough and understanding she was during my consult. After my consult I emailed asking what the next steps moving forward would be only to be told there was a large amount of cases on their workload and to contact back after the first week of October. I contacted back hoping to schedule the sometime the second week of October only to be told we cannot take your case and to look elsewhere. In the meantime I have been waiting while my case has continued to get worse hoping for this so go through as I am a single mother and the 410$ was not easy to just part with for a consultation. My honest opinion is though Melissa may in fact be a fantastic lawyer for the cases she chooses to take on, it was not professional or appropriate to to charge 410$ for an hour consult if she in fact knew she could not take my case at this time, this felt like a ploy to take my money and has left my pocketbook hurting while still searching for legal representation. By the time I pay another firm for a consultation I could be out another 200-400$ and still possibly not have someone willing to take this case at the end of the day. Charging for a consult when you know you cannot take a clients case is a very bad look for any reputable law firm or otherwise. Please be weary of the types of questions you ask about what a consult entails and what next steps would be before forking our hundreds in this economy.

    Linda Weldon: I would recommend Callahan Law to anyone that has a DUI charge. I had never had any criminal charge before and the DUI I was recently charged with was dismissed this week, thanks to Callahan Law and Abigael Pence and her staff. Since my case was dismissed and Callahan Law did not have to do too much for me, I was only charged for the time they put into my case which was almost 1/4 of their regular fee. They did not have to do that, but they are a fair and compassionate law firm that was looking out for my welfare and what was right and fair.
