  • Port Townsend Athletic Club - Port Townsend
Kate Stewart: I signed up for a weekly pass while in port Townsend, starting at the marina. I liked that I could easily walk there. I paid about $45 for the week, which was a little steep for me, but they had everything I needed. The gym seemed clean and spray/towels were provided for cleaning. The gym is spread across multiple floors throughout the building, so I had a harder time finding things. I wandered and asked someone if I couldn’t find something. If you cannot go up and down stairs, this gym isn’t for you. The only thing I was sad About that they didn’t have was air conditioning. I’m not used to lifting without a/c and it was sweaty! I was here during a warmer streak and choose to work out around 9-10am so it was cooler. I only ran into one person who was really stinky due to sweat, but I just avoided him and was perfectly fine. Plus, there was a gym dog there and I enjoyed petting her!
    Anchor Gym - Port Townsend
Marc Siemens: Anchor Gym is a blast from the past! If you are under the age of 50, you may not truly know what an "old school gym" was really like back in the 70s. Well... Anchor Gym is exactly what it was like. LOVE IT!! Now in all fairness, not the gym for everyone. But if you yearn for that feeling of what it was like at Golds Gym in California when Arnold was in his hey day... this is the place to come. You want new, shiny and a place where getting fit means spending hours on cardio... NOT FOR YOU! That said, there is and upstairs addition with a handful of cardio pieces and boxing equipment (thankfully upstairs as it would ruin the ambiance of the perfect weight training area). 5+ GIANT STARS for Anchor Fitness. Not sure how they manage to stay in business in this day and age, but fingers crossed it carries on for decades to come. Not only as a fitness club, but as an old school gym museum.
    Evergreen Fitness - Port Townsend
TigerLily Kelley: Ive tried to contact them over five times! Still wont cancel my membership. I moved out of state to take care of a dying family member and have no money in my account to even pay it. They try to charge me for it EVERY DAY. They havent responded to any emails or texts Ive sent them. This is absurd and extra stress I do not need while going through a family emergency. Very unprofessional and cold.

Isaiah Ruffin: Overall a great gym with great prices. This gym is filled with all shapes of people of all colors... usually on the younger side. I tried the three day pass. It was a great way to see if id love it or not. My only gripe is there is only one row machine and it isnt open 24 hours. Will I commit... not sure yet.
    Cap Hill Fitness - Seattle
Alicia Martinez: Amazing experience at this local gym. The owner Clinton is super cool and down to earth. He keeps everything in the gym in immaculate condition and clean. They have a wide variety of equipment for strength and cardio. The gym has a chill vibe, no judgments (unless you make a mess lol). Everyone will feel comfortable here to get healthy. If you are a local definitely recommend a membership here, you will not regret it!
    Cap Hill Fitness - Seattle
Mihir Ranade: I absolutely recommend this gym. I’ve been a member for more than a year, and it’s been fantastic. They now have two locations you can access with the same membership, which I love. Clinton does a great job running Capitol Hill Fitness—he’s friendly, keeps the place super clean, and takes security and member safety seriously. You can tell everything is planned and managed with care. Easily one of the best gyms in the area.
Innovative Health Gym & Wellness Center - Seattle
E M: Bahman, a personal trainer at this gym is great. Both my son and I have been training with him the past month and we have learned a lot. He created a plan that focused on what my goal was. I’ve been in the gym over the years and thought I knew what I was doing, but he helped teach me proper form and explain the ‘why’ behind different exercises I was doing. He uses a free app that I can use when I’m not in there with him. I also like the gym because it’s never too crowded when I’ve gone from 12 to 5. They have a good array of equipment and it’s affordable. It’s clean and the staff is friendly.
    Rain City Fit - Seattle
    Rain City Fit
Lily K: My favorite gym of all time!! Plants and lights and disco balls and also all the machines you’d ever need. They somehow keep breaking down walls and adding new rooms too so it’s also kind of a fun maze. You never know what you’ll find. Good community and responsive management when you need something.
Emerald City Athletics - Columbia City - Seattle

Nicholas Momaly: Cannot recommend this gym more! Between the cleanliness, equipment selection, coaches and trainers, and the overall energy in the gym it’s everything someone serious about their health could want. It’s not just a lifting gym, or a space with some treadmills and machines. It has everything you need to find your perfect workout. Kai, Dallas, and Amelia have been super helpful thus far and I look forward to working out with the other coaches in the near future. Come check them out!
South Seattle Womens Fitness - Seattle
Amy Razo: South Seattle Womens fitness is exactly what I was looking for to restart a fitness regimen simply because they offer a variety of classes throughout the day, but there is so much more to this studio than just a great workout. I am so appreciative of the many ways they make this space feel safe, welcoming, and encouraging and it has allowed me to let go of a lot of the insecurities and discomfort that I have felt in gyms. The way they instruct creates a healthy balance of challenging ourselves while also honoring our bodies as they show up that day. While I dont have children myself, I love that they create child friendly options within their schedule. I havent done their classes virtually but Im glad Ill have the option to do them live or at a time that works for me. I know that Id be much more likely to do them knowing Id be following the instructors that Im used to taking classes with in person. I havent tried their add ons like personal training, their run clubs, or their 10 week strength courses, but its great that they exist and I plan to look into them in the future. Ive never been in such a diverse fitness space or one that is specifically for women, and its amazing what a difference that makes. That, combined with other little touches like asking a "question of the day" as we warm up, outdoor meetups, and things like food drives and meal kit assembly parties, shows that SSWF is focused on building and uplifting the community within the space as well as outside of it.
