Michaels Watch & Jewelry Repair - Renton
mishajosh: This is in response to the owners comments: I have noticed that all business owners say the same thing whenever they receive a negative review. I dont know whether I spoke to you or not, but it was very clear from the moment that I walked in that the person behind the glass was not happy to see me. So, I dont know if she was having a bad day or if she just doesnt like Black people. But she was extremely rude! And if this is what you consider welcoming people to your store, then I think that you have a very strong way of showing it. A few years ago I went to Michaels Watch & Jewelry Repair to have them repair a watch that I have had for many years. It had stopped running and they were supposed to replace the spring. For this service they charged quite a lot. Because I stopped wearing most jewelry during covid, I did not realize until recently that it had stopped running again. So, with receipt in hand, I returned to Michaels to ask them to look at the watch and see what was wrong. The woman in the store was extremely rude and dismissive and assumed that I wanted something done for free. I told her that was not the case and that I first wanted to find out what was wrong with the watch before deciding to have it repaired. She sneered at me and said that would cost twice what I had originally paid to have it fixed. Of course, I declined.

Reagan Somers: Waited over 10 minutes to even be greeted because I wasn’t a “paying customer”, instead I was dropping off jewelry to be repaired. Completely ignored me standing there, waiting for help while he sat and helped someone else shop. Would have taken you 1 minute to accept my item to be repaired… instead I sat around till I was helped by another associate. So rude.

Mike Money: Fred fixed my wifes wedding ring! I took in the ring to get it evaluated for estimate. Freds pricing was very reasonable! He is very knowledgeable and explained exactly how to fix the ring. Luckily for my wife and I we didnt lose the diamond that was hanging by a thread! Fred took the ring that day and had it sparkling new just a few days later. Him and his wife Daina are the nicest most loveliest couple! It was such a pleasure to meet and have the work I needed done with Fred Bennett Creations. Ill be sure to visit them again in the future.

Tonia Jackson: Kim was always a pleasure to work with. We have bought multiple rings, necklaces ect from here. Unfortunately Kim retired and the new manager is not so good. She made my husband feel like he was being profiled. acted like he shouldnt be there and was wasting her time. He took my engagement ring to get it cleaned and purchase a new band for me. Not only did he take my ring but the ring size is in their computer, when he got the new ring its was way too small and my engagement ring wasnt clean. The new manager clearly doesnt care about customer service and now that Kim is gone, so are we. We will not be returning to be treated like crap. We will stick to Tiffany and Co.....

Lorna: Deceived, Dismissed and Disheartened I’ve never written a review before, but this experience was deeply unprofessional and damaging to my health that I feel I must warn others. On June 13th, I spent $1,800 on four solid gold piercing changes (two helix, a conch, and a belly button). At first, everything seemed fine, but within days one helix bar was too short and pressing into my skin, while the conch jewelry was so tight it created an indentation and began forming a keloid. (See pictures attached. Left in silver is the original one and on the right in gold is the one Abra put in.) The earliest follow-up appointment available was July 6th. When I returned, the same piercer, Abra, replaced the helix bar—charging me again—and admitted the correct conch size wasn’t in stock and wouldn’t be for at least four weeks. She also tried to charge me over $200 for the conch replacement, blaming me for not knowing my own size and responded defensively, becoming aggressive when I questioned it. She said it was my fault for waiting, despite their appointment system leaving me no sooner option. It became clear she never had the correct sizes during my initial visit and I believe she knowingly used the wrong ones. I believe her focus was on sales, not my health. There was no apology, no accountability, and no genuine concern. Now I’m left with a keloid and have to heal with a stud before I can seek out a shop that will actually provide honest, professional care.

Said Rashahid: Came here with my mom to get her ring fixed. Everywhere else was talking about charging her $30–$150 and a weeklong wait time. They did it in about 30 seconds, for free! We will absolutely be coming back to them in the future for our jewelry purchases.
