North Whidbey Help House - Oak Harbor (WA)

3 /5 Stormi Bradford: The front desk lady was very kind and helpful. However, I’m 9 months pregnant, and when I asked for help to carry food out to my car, an employee gave me attitude and said, “Well, it doesn’t mean youre broken.” My due date is in 6 days, and I have a high-risk pregnancy. Reading through other reviews, Ive noticed that this isn’t the first time they have given pregnant women a hard time asking for help. So, if you are pregnant and need assistance carrying stuff, I suggest going to another food bank or bringing someone who can help. Not to mention, most people going to food banks struggle in one shape or another. My family and I have been struggling with homelessness for 7 months, and Im about to have a baby. You would think people working for programs designed to help those in need would share more kindness.

5 /5 Alyssa: I just want to add a note so I dont forget again. They take their lunch break at 12-1pm lol I always end up calling because I cant remember for the life of me. Anyways, this help house is so great. Its been open since I can remember and its location its superb as its next to the garage of blessings and the womens clinic is right around the corner. If you need a little extra help to get by, the NW Help House is amazing. I have really grow to love everyone there too! I appreciate everything these workers do for us to be able to have goods when needed. You guys rock! Thank you for doing everything you do. -Alyssa C.

They might not be able to do everything but they Will do what they Can, and point you in the Right Direction. They have made a HUGE difference for me, when I was in a difficult spot, in a place I didnt know. Thank you all so much
