5 /5 Beth Edwards: Ive never experienced an incident that required a lawyers defense, but I accidentally made one for my husband. If convicted of the criminal charge, he could face 10 years in prison and a heavy fine. I was scared to death. We were referred to Jason by another trusted attorney who does family law, so we reached out to him. Jason was so responsive and called us on a weekend to get things started. He met with us right away, went through the case and informed us of the potential outcomes. He acted on our decision to defend immediately. The charge was ridiculous and a waste of tax payer dollars, and it was so obvious it was my fault, but the prosecutor didnt see it that way. Jason did though, he recognized this was really a mistake made by me and immediately began to develop a winning defense. The case stretched out for 2 years with continuances, and all the while I was contacting his office with questions and "what ifs", researching and sending RCWs, etc.. to his assistant, Crystal. With each email, she responded with kindness and support, forwarding pertinent information to Jason, and did so with care and genuine concern. I know I drove both her and Jason crazy, but every time, they gently talked me off the ledge, and there were countless ledges. They were perfectly communicative and we never had to wonder what was going on. Jason thoroughly prepared us to talk to the prosecutor and gave us the confidence wed need to sit in front of that man. When it finally came time for trial, Jason was able to make a deal with the prosecutor. At the hearing, the judge shamed the prosecutor, saying "another 11th hour decision" - she recognized the prosecutions waste as well. Jason was able to reduce the the charge from a felony to a misdemeanor, which we accepted to avoid a trial. The finality of this nightmare has changed the course of our lives. We know how it ends and can finally move on with our lives, and Powers Law made that happen. Jason and Crystal could not be kinder or gentler souls. They cared for us, and truly understood our fears. They took a personal interest in making sure we got the best outcome, and that I didnt have a meltdown. My husband got into trouble a few times over those two years, and Jason immediately acted on his behalf, regardless if it was connected to the original charge. His office worked tirelessly with us, and we are so relieved that everything is finally over. Powers Law set us free and returned normalcy to our lives. We couldnt be more grateful for their service, support and encouragement. We will forever be grateful to Powers Law for setting us free. Thank you for making things right and ensuring that justice prevailed.
