3 /5 James ST: I stopped by this Indian restaurant on a whim while I was in the area and decided to give it a try.
I ordered the butter chicken tikka masala at spice level 4 out of 5. Unfortunately, the flavor was very mild and not spicy at all. While the base flavor of the dish was there, it lacked the depth and bold kick that Indian food is typically known for, which was disappointing given the spice level I requested.
On a more positive note, I also had the pineapple lassi which was refreshing and unique. It’s not something you easily find at many Indian restaurants. The service was friendly and welcoming, and they even offered complimentary rice pudding (kheer) at the end of the meal, which was a nice touch.
I also want to highlight that they offer a free buffet to veterans on the last Tuesday of each month, which is a commendable and thoughtful gesture.
Overall, I’ve personally had better Indian food elsewhere and don’t see myself returning. However, I appreciate the hospitality and wish this place the best.
