4 /5 James ST: This AYCE KBBQ spot is such a gem, especially because buffet-style Korean BBQ is surprisingly rare, which already makes this place stand out. The value is great and the selection is solid. There’s a wide variety of meats including kalbi, bulgogi, samgyeopsal, dwaeji bulgogi, chicken, and seafood, so there’s something for everyone whether you prefer beef, pork, or lighter options.
The banchan selection is also a highlight. Everything is well-stocked and flavorful, but my absolute favorites are the potato salad, fish cake, and the marinated spicy cucumber.
Most of the staff have been friendly, attentive, and helpful, which really adds to the overall experience. That said, I did have one unfortunate incident that’s hard to forget. An older Korean staff member took the tong from our table without asking and flipped the meat herself, which caused hot oil to splash onto my hand. She only said “omo, gwaenchana?” and walked away with no apology. It was uncomfortable and disappointing. Luckily I didn’t get any burns.
Thankfully, every other interaction I’ve had with other staff has been nothing but positive. I’ve returned multiple times since that incident with no issues at all. It’s a shame that one moment slightly tarnished an otherwise great memory, but it hasn’t stopped me from enjoying this place.
Overall, this is still a go-to recommendation I make to friends for good AYCE KBBQ. Great meat selection, tasty banchan, and a unique buffet-style setup make it worth visiting and revisiting.
