Lunas Bistro - Bellingham (WA)

5 /5 PR: I went into Luna’s Bistro last night, it was packed. Our server didn’t miss a beat. She was the only one working the floor and still gave every table friendly, attentive service with a constant smile. No delays, just great energy and professionalism. I had the burger deal — absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back!

5 /5 Gordon Mitchell: Updated 4/22/24: Lauren took very good care of us last evening. It was our second visit and will certainly NOT be our last. The service was excellent as was the food. Sundays @ Luna means HH all-day so the savings are incredible! Where else are you going to find focaccia bread with marinara for $2??? The wings were excellent (gluten free!!) as were the beef sliders! The garlic fries were also very yummy! Five dollars off an already reasonably priced bottle of wine (Rodney Strong Chalk Hill Chardonnay) is just an added bonus! All in all we could not have been more pleased!! Original review: Just terrific! Great service, some of the best fries in town, the calamari is perfectly cooked and did I mention the service? Emily was the consummate host! I never expected Luna to be this good, they really surprised me.

2 /5 Craig Johnson: We ordered chicken wings appetizer with salt and pepper, meatball pasta and the 10oz sirloin steak medium rare. The wings had a wonderful crust but were mushy in the middle possibly from ice crystals shredding the protein as they didnt have a precooked reheated flavor. The meatballs were over seasoned with Italian herbs or just way too much oregano, as was the canned tomato sauce. The steak had a rancid taste of a dirty grill and was very tough to chew. Margarine was on the plate for the potatoes.

5 /5 Joseph Finn: Very cute little restaurant with two levels. We sat on the top floor which gave us a fresh and unique experience. Our waitress Amanda was so nice and attentive and made sure we got the right order. The Bahama mama cocktail was very yummy and the huckleberry cosmo packed a punch! French onion soup had a very pleasant and tasty broth, but I wish they used gruyere cheese instead of Mozzerela. The truffle fries had a very potent flavor and the cheese dip complimented and balanced the flavors very well. The ribeye steak was cooked perfectly, well seasoned, and didnt have too much fat on it (sometimes ribeye steaks have way too much fat and not enough meat). The margarita pizza (we got Xtra cheese) had a very dense dough, so it gave it a nice and crisp bite. Nice, light, tangy sauce to compliment the fresh Mozzerela. The Bathroom was also clean (2 unisex, single user bathrooms). If we ever find our way back in Bellingham we will be back! A great dinner spot if you want to go to a movie as well.

5 /5 Kristin Edwards: We just ate here for the first time, before our movie. First of all, we were both impressed with the friendly (but not overly intrusive), perfect service! Sarah was our server and shes amazing. Then came the food...I was really impressed! I had the Friday night chefs special, which was grilled halibut and a crazy delicious veggie rice. Usually Im at least a little disappointed when I order fish...what a pleasant surprise that my fish was cooked perfectly. The veggie rice is usually something I wouldnt bother with in most places, but again, it dazzled. They even grilled my lemon to squeeze over the fish...love the little touches. My husband got their halibut and chips, and he was super pleased with it as well. The fries were in a little bit of a crunchy batter and were crisp, delicious. Id highly recommend this bistro!! The prices are a little bit on the higher side but the food quality definitely justifies this, trust me!!
