4 /5 Kathy Richardson: As if I am not having enough fun dealing with my shoulder rehabilitation, it turns out I have a gigantic hole in one of my molars. I am now on antibiotics until I can see the specialist, of course. I needed to go to Olympia to pick up the script to keep infection at bay until I see the dentist.
We had eaten at O’Blarney’s before but it had been quite some time. We decided to stop there for dinner.
The restaurant was empty so we had our choice of tables. Our server came right over with menus. I ordered water and strawberry lemonade. Ray ordered water and coffee.
After going through the menu several times I settled on the fish and chips. Ray ordered the shepherd’s pie.
Our meals came up quickly. My fish was nice and hot. The fries weren’t just warm. They were cold. Of course, our server was busy, so it was a few minutes before she checked back with us. She immediately went to fetch more fries and was very apologetic about them being cold. I ended up only eating my fish. The fries came home to share with my Amazon parrot.
Ray ate about half of his dinner and brought the rest home. He ordered a piece of carrot cake for dessert. Carrot cake is one of his favorite desserts. I took a bite but was not impressed.
Overall I thought dinner was OK but nothing stellar and not as I remember from past meals. I was also coming down with a cold and my mouth isn’t happy with the inflamed tooth. The fries were still cold regardless of how I was feeling.
This restaurant does have good food and pleasant staff members. Everyone can have a bad day.
