5 /5 Duncan McAlpine: We had a wonderful experience during happy hour at Puerto Vallarta! We started with a $6 Modelo Negro and a tall $5 vodka water with a splash of cranberry—both great choices to kick off the evening. The complimentary house salsa and refried beans were fresh and tasty, and I was especially excited that they had curtido available when I asked. I love curtido—this Salvadoran cabbage slaw made with cabbage, carrots, onion, oregano, vinegar, and salt is so refreshing, crunchy, and completely addicting.
For our main meal, we shared the Pollo en Mole, which featured strips of boneless chicken breast sautéed in their sweet, authentic Mexican mole sauce. It was flavorful and comforting, and the portion was perfect for sharing at $19.50.
We didn’t get a photo of the main dish this time, but we’re already looking forward to coming back soon!
