5 /5 Summer Schoening: My friend Allana is a weekly visitor here. She loves it, so she brought me to try it.
We started off our meals with some carrot and orange juice, the juice of the day. It was deliciously creamy and frothy. I felt the nutrients entering my body. It was the first warm and sunny day of the year, so we thoroughly enjoyed this refreshing juice.
I ordered a beef burrito that came with rice and beans, as well as a chicken papusa and a pork papusa. I knew this would warrant my leftovers, as it’s a lot of food. The beans were exactly to my preference; creamy and savory beans that mix well with the rice. And rice was fluffy and seasoned with a unique blend of spices that you aren’t used to if you only frequent Mexican restaurants in town. The burrito had veggies, beef, some sauce. I’m sure there were other ingredients in it as well but I was too focused on eating it because it was so delicious. A red sauce ladled over the top of the burrito kept everything hot and moist.
The papusas were delicious on their own, and remarkable when paired with the cabbage slaw, the sauce provided, and some spicy pepper sauce. It was my first papusa, so I cannot attest to wow it compared to others. But I do know it was delicious and I want to go back. The pork and chicken inside were also seasoned well with unique (to me) spices. The slaw was a great fresh pairing.
The plantains had a nice char on them, enhancing the sweet flavor and providing a nice contrast. They were incredibly soft with a pudding-like texture. A dip in the beans and crema balanced the bite well.
I am already excited to go back and order more. Maybe the birria and a different juice? I will keep this review updated.
GO TRY IT!!!!
