5 /5 Justin Lau: Yoli Mexican Restaurant in Kent has quickly become one of my favorite spots since it opened in July 2025. I’ve tried a lot of Mexican food around the West Coast, but the dishes here truly stand out. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere with plenty of space — it can even host events for up to 80 people, which makes it a great place for gatherings or celebrations. From the moment I walked in, I could tell this was a place that takes pride in both its food and hospitality.
I started with the menudo verde and menudo rojo, and both were absolutely incredible. The verde had this bright, herby flavor that felt fresh and comforting, while the rojo had a deep, rich broth that was full of warmth and spice. It’s rare to find menudo that’s made with this much care and flavor, and both versions were honestly some of the best I’ve ever had.
The carne asada was another highlight — tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The portion size was generous, and every bite was satisfying. I also tried the taco platter, and it was beautifully presented with fresh ingredients and bold flavors. You can tell the kitchen puts a lot of thought into both the look and taste of each dish.
What really made the experience special, though, was the service. Everyone at Yoli was friendly and attentive, Maria was my server for brunch during one of my visits and her charm and attitude really made my day. And Jeremy, the owner, made a point to greet guests and check in on tables. He and the staff have such a genuine charm that made the whole experience even more enjoyable. It felt less like dining at a restaurant and more like being welcomed into someone’s home.
I also stopped by for brunch and dessert, and both were excellent. The chilaquiles were easily some of the best I’ve had — flavorful, crispy, and perfectly balanced. For dessert, the guava cheesecake and chocolate brownie really stood out; both were rich, delicious, and a great way to end the meal. Overall, Yoli is a gem in Kent, and I’m already looking forward to coming back again every weekend.
