I also attended service and felt so comfortable and welcomed that I nearly got baptized on the second visit. Having been raised Catholic, and being a practitioner of Native American spirituality, the folks at Calvary made me feel that comfortable and made me feel like I was at home. It has been five years since then, my ex partner, who is black, still lives in Spokane and I no longer live there but share my story of Calvary and the people who attend service as one of my best memories of my time in Spokane. 5 /5 King Kwa Zulu: I wanna thank Mamma D and Correy for inviting me to come to service! I havent been to church in over 20 years and I felt at home the moment I walked in and first it was the music Mamma D singing Calypso gospel dancing in the corner and the entire choir filling the room with praise from the rafters to the stage. Oh oh oh the CHOIR outstanding especially there lead WOW! The most surprising thing was it was not as long as it use to be. Everything was cleaned and recleaned and sanitized as the sermon went on like a well oiled machine they went on like covid was just apart of the life. EVEN THE COMMUNION WAS IN A PEAL BACK CUP! Service was simple and straight to the point and as a former citizen of Isreal it gave me a lot of appreciation to be able to really finally understand the good book is not full of mythology and truly take in the words. I Thank God for this experience and appreciate this church and thank you for opening up

I have learned so much more out of the bible from Bobby Moore, the pastor. I used to feel so alone in this huge world, but now I feel something inside me that has been a life changing experience! My 24 year old daughter likes River City so much, she comes from out of town for services.

T go: My husband and I went to this “church” for about two months a number of years ago, this was my experience: I went to one meeting called a “home group” I sat on the couch I was there maybe half an hour and we were talking about church attendance and I said: if jesus were to show up at any church nowadays he would be kicked out. the home group host and leader who was also an assistant pastor started shaking and with raised voice, and bulging eyes he screamed: this church does great things for god! our church is a wonderful church! this tirade continued, the assistant pastor then got up and got in front of me and sat on the coffee table bellowing about how great the church was, I was trapped he was so close I could not get up to run. This was extremely frighting to say the least, others in the group joined in saying things like your wrong, this church is about Jesus, this was so scary, I didn’t know what to do, I was able to leave soon after the assistant pastor got off the coffee table. For him to be that triggered by an innocent comment is an overwhelming indication of guilt (conviction?) on a level I can’t imagine. A few days later, I went to the police station, the officer told me if that happens again to call crime check, this is not a “church” I would recommend.

New Horizons Community Church - Spokane

Chris Basham: I started going to New Horizons Community Church soon after college and I love my church home here. It is a huge blessing to get to be a part of this church family of loving and authentic people of all ages. We have a strong commitment to small groups where we just grow closer together through learning and fun together. My wife and I also work in the Childrens ministry, so I must comment on that thriving ministry as well. :) One last, quick thing I enjoy about New Horizons is that our church family is large enough to have a vibrant variety of people, yet small enough to where each person can be connected with a lot of the church.

Services are held both early and later on Sundays to fit anyones schedule. There is much going on thru the week to be involved in. A good & comfortable place to worship and find new friends.
