I reached out to this shop with a simple question: What was the most expensive repair they had done here? This had nothing to do with my car specifically—I just needed a general answer to make a financial decision. Any reputable repair shop should have a record of major work done, but instead of being honest, they played dumb and pretended not to know, just so they could push me into paying for a diagnosis I didn’t need.
Who doesn’t know the most expensive job they’ve done? Either they’re completely disorganized, or they’re deliberately withholding information to squeeze money out of customers. Neither is acceptable. If this is how they operate, I wouldn’t trust them with a simple oil change, let alone a major repair. Take your business elsewhere and find a shop that values transparency and integrity.
