5 /5 Dave Bartkus: I’m a recent arrival to the PNW, and had previously visited the same barber for almost twenty years. I arrived on Whidbey late last year and had a picture of myself right after a haircut from my last barber, and clipper-number and other instructions on how to cut my hair. I tried a chain hair cutting place a couple of times; these visits made me realize that I wanted to try something more personalized. So I ponied up the extra $5.00 (cheap!) and am really glad I did. Sure, you should make an appointment, but hey, get a decent haircut from Martha as a favor to all the people who have to look at you.

5 /5 Seth Meisel: needed a haircut while on vacation. Called to get an appointment, because other places in the south part of the island were booked up. The barber that cut my hair really took the time to cut it correctly, rather than just getting me out the door .

5 /5 JD Island: I take my 2 kids here for trims and my elderly father for his haircuts. She does a great job! She’s very gentle and respectful with my father who has declining communication skills. It’s a very local, small town kind of place which is why we like it. As for the reviews about rudeness, my guess is it’s cross cultural misunderstanding. The owner/stylist is very warm and kind once you make the effort to have a conversation. Services are basic but that’s what Coupeville needs, basic offerings so we don’t have to travel north or south, and that’s why she’s been around so long. Leave a message to make an appointment, she will call you back but she runs the whole place - be patient.
