2 /5 Cthomp91: I came in a little over a week ago for a full set and eyebrow/lip wax. Waxing was great! I love how my eyebrows look, no acne or irritation afterward. Awesome.
The nails are horrendous. I stopped asking the tech what she was doing because she blew me off every time. The nails are so uneven, so flat, and packed with so much glue, I don’t know where to start.
Shop says they take walk ins. I got handed to an older woman. She was very nice, but her competence is very much lacking.
Her station was filthy, covered in all of her stuff. It does not look like she cleans her station at all. She immediately started using tools that looked like they hadn’t been cleaned from the last use. I asked if she could use clean bits, she wasn’t happy.
She had a heck of a time putting the tips on my nails. She BARELY used any glue. I repeatedly pointed out the corners of the tips were not glued down. Instead of taking the tips off and redoing it properly, she just put a whole bunch of nail glue on top.
She then used the drummel on the tips? I had never seen that before. Then she drummeled so much, she actually put a hole in one of the tips. I told her there was a hole. Her solution? More glue. The glue actually came through the hole and glued the tip of my finger to the nail. Which she never fixed either.
I asked for almond shape, like the reference photo, she said, “No, round.” I said I hate round and like almond. And she said it works best with the reference I gave. I said again, I want almond. She gave me round.
The acrylic is some of the most bumpy, lumpy, uneven, but SO flat. She would take HUGE beads that were not formed or solid yet, and try to apply it. She would apply so much acrylic then take most of it off. It made no sense. Wasted so much product.
She had another woman come paint my nails. The nail polish is incredibly uneven. It’s thick and dark at the top, but the bottoms you can see through the nail polish. The second tech also saw and felt how the first one left the acrylic and made no comment or effort to fix it, although I had also told her it’s lumpy.
I did not get what I asked for. At all. Not the shape, she didn’t want to do chunky glitter, and only gave me gel samples to choose from. I chose a dark blue, but still wanted as close to the reference as possible. Never happened. She did the the entire nail blue, no black, no transitions.
The quoted me $40 when I showed her the reference, but when I was done it was $50. When I was paying, the first older tech was standing literally on her toes, Looking over my shoulder to see how much I tipped. Very uncomfortable.
It’s a little over a week, and they’re already starting to lift at the bottoms, and they’re turning a weird yellow color. So it was too much exposure under the UV or bad product was used on my nails. I don’t smoke, I don’t paint, I don’t work with chemicals, there is no reason for them to be yellowing.
I would love a refund, because these are really poor quality. I used to come to this shop years ago and always had a good experience, but the skill and quality has very obviously suffered over the years. I was in the area and thought they had done great work before, I’ll go here instead of traveling to my usual spot. Big mistake on my part.
I didn’t bother asking them to fix it or telling them I was unhappy because the work they already did was so bad, I didn’t trust them to be able to fix it. Straight up. I didn’t think they had the capability to fix it since two people worked on my nails and thought the work was quality.
I’d also like to note, for a single set of acrylics. She took over two hours. I have NEVER had a salon take so long to do nails. I’m in and out within 30-45 minutes at most with my regular shop. Just a horrid experience all around. Ruined the niceness of the wax.
I will post the reference picture and my results, along with close ups of my complaints.
The older woman has no business doing anyone’s nails. Don’t waste your money here.
