1 /5 Logan S: This morning I had my first and last appointment at Sunrise Dental. I called a couple of weeks ago specifically to schedule a deep cleaning and exam appointment because I just got dental insurance again and I havent been to the dentist in a while. While scheduling my cleaning appointment, they asked if I had any problem areas, so I told them my upper right molar was bothering me. I get to my appointment today thinking Ill be getting a deep cleaning and regular exam. Instead, they took two xrays of the right side and the dentist came in for not even 5 minutes, poked at that one molar, then told me I need two root canals before theyll do a cleaning. What?! Why didnt they schedule me for a cleaning in the first place when I asked for that specifically? And why the hell do I need to pay $1,000 for two root canals before theyll do an exam and cleaning? My husband called them when he found out and they told him the hygienist wasnt even in today. WHY DID YOU SCHEDULE ME FOR A DAY THE HYGIENIST ISNT IN WHEN I SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED AN EXAM AND DEEP CLEANING APPOINTMENT???? Scheduling is not hard, if the person wants a cleaning and the cleaning person isnt in that day then dont schedule them for that day. He spoke to the manager, Josh, who was extremely unhelpful and basically told us to go somewhere else instead of figuring out where his staff dropped the ball with scheduling. Aside from that, they violated HIPAA by having multiple client information sheets on the receptionist desk (papers with peoples full name, DOB, addresse, drivers license numbers, social security #s, etc- they were the same papers I had to fill out when I got there). One of the receptionists gave a patients full name and DOB and other personal information on the phone in front of me while waiting to checkout. Im honestly shocked at the way they run the office and appalled at the way theyve handled this situation. Save yourself the trouble and DO NOT GO HERE!!
