5 /5 Susan Harter: I came here three years ago- not a habitual churchgoer, raised a skeptic and atheist- and found a warm, wonderful, radically accepting group of people. Its a gorgeous historic church, one of the very first in WA state. Some members have been coming here for generations. There is an amazing organ with thousands of pipes, culled by volunteers from church organs across the US. The young pastor, Tony Brown, is the real deal- modest, sincere, devoid of the sort of sanctimoniousness that has turned me off of churches in the past. This is very much a "faith in action" congregation, like our new week-day drop-off infant care nursery for parents (anyone in community welcome, not just churchgoers). If youre looking for a historic church with modern views, this might be the place. (If you are curious but not sure, you can see live streaming of sermons on the church website.)
