  • What Clients Are Saying about Urban Grace: The Downtown Church (on GG)
5 /5 Donald Kanne: I want to update my review of the Sunday morning breakfast that the church has sponsored for the past 26 year. Feeding the homeless of Tacoma is a blessing from God delivered to the less fortunate through the volunteers that devote their time and culinary skills to provide a holson and delicious meal that is legendary. I would visit the once a week feed on occasion. Being homeless myself it was beacon of light and I expressed my appreciation adamantly. Then it came to my attention that some of the volunteers were a part of my history growing up in Tacoma. Eventually I was asked to join the team of volunteers and help . I was honored. To be part of such graciousness gave me a purpose. I now project a warm greeting to the homeless as they enter the dining room. Getting there at 5 am to set up, greeting each individual with a smile and putting the equipment away makes me feel closer to my community through the efforts of Gods volunteers. The food is prepared with love and kindness and being homeless while giving to the homeless completes the circle. I have established a lasting bond with those who are the giver and the receivers of Gods goodness.
5 /5 Andy Vargo: Own Your Awkward: Great space for events! Centered in the heart of downtown Tacoma, it is great to see how many awesome community events are held here. This year was my first time catching the 253 Short Film Party here and it did not disappoint.
5 /5 Wasson Sarah “Jaimie”: Beautiful historic church. Friendly and welcoming congregation and staff. LGBT+ affirming. Multi-denominational all are welcome. Community breakfast begins at 8 and ends at 9. Service begins at 10:30 followed by a coffee hour to get to know each other better. Urban Grace is everything I missed about Church and I cant wait until I visit again!
5 /5 Clover Connections: Saw an amazing theater and dance production of Dracula here. The theater space was amazing and clean. The all gender bathrooms have full walls for each stall and felt very safe. Love all the antique photos on the walls. Great lighting during the production. I think the sound quality could have been a little better but it was sufficient. Comfortable seats. Great crowd who dressed up in their best goth and black clothing for the occasion! Apparently during the production, a man without a ticket made his way into the audience and created a distraction with his many walk throughs in front of the actors and talking with people who were trying to watch the show. I was thoroughly impressed with the peaceful way the large security people escorted the man out during the intermission. First time Ive been at a church with bouncers! If he needs an intervention, I hope they mentioned some resources. Tip: if you were merely a party crasher, just sit in back quietly, enjoy the show and no one would ever know or care. Had you asked to enter for free because of interest in the show, you might have even been told yes. It seems to be that kind of inclusive place.

House of Prayer Christian Church - tacoma - Tacoma
Jashua A Garza: We didnt last 20 minutes and walked out. I agree with many of the comments. I have been approached multiple times by then at Walmart and finally decided to go check them out. It was indeed very loud. Men were on one side of the church, women on the other. My boyfriend sat next to me. I was also the only woman who was not wearing a long skirt or dress. Not my cup of tea but if you are into more extravagant churches then pay them a visit. The people did seem nice but too chipper for me. I think they might get points or some kind of reward for inviting people.

    Anchor Church Tacoma - Tacoma
Rees Lindseth: We love Anchor, and I have to give a special shoutout to the kids ministry. The team is so intentional and caring, and our kids are always excited to come back. Its clear that a lot of thought and heart goes into what they do each week. As a parent, its such a gift to know your kids are not only safe, but also learning about Jesus in a way that really sticks with them. Grateful to be part of a church that values the next generation so well!
