1 /5 Luka Megurine: Went in to ask about winding yarn, and was abruptly told I was annoying. I presume this was a joke, but it was in poor taste and jarring. The owner told me to start over. Her tone was rude and condescending. This is not the first time that I have gone into this store hoping to support a local business and explore a new hobby, and have been met with such a cold and unwelcoming front. Another instance, a friend and I buying some yarn, whom this friend asked about winding her new skein. The owner made several comments about how she wouldn’t be able to do this if it was busy, and how lucky she was for her to be able to do this for her. We were the only customers in the store. Any time I’ve entered the store, it has felt off-putting and uncomfortable, as if I don’t belong and shouldn’t be there, often with little to no greeting or acknowledgement. I’ve tried to ignore this, but after such a rude and uncomfortable exchange with this last visit, I will not be returning. It is unfortunate as the other shopkeepers seem so pleasant and kind, but I refuse to support such poor customer service and give my business where it is blatantly not welcome.
