1 /5 Irah King: My family and I have purchased Filson clothes and products for over 40 years. Their clothes are expensive, but remain good value because they are very well-made, durable and good-looking. When making a holiday purchase this year for my family members, I place a large order online and accidentally shipped it to the wrong address. There is no place to change the shipping address on the Filson website, so I called customer support less than 24 hours after my purchase and requested to change the shipping address. Although this request should seemingly be as easy as the press of a button, customer support had to "escalate" the request. I only received an email 48 hours later informing me that my request was denied because the shipping address differed from the billing address (really??!!). I immediately called Filson again and asked them to reverse this decision, only to be told that the decision cannot be reversed and it would be best to cancel the order. However, cancelling the order ALSO required my request to be "escalated". I agreed to cancel the order, but 72 hours later, I received an email telling me that my order has been shipped (to the wrong address). To fix this problem, I had to find someone at the wrong address to ship it to the correct address for me at the expense of my friends time and the cost of $40.
For a company that is over 125 years old and operating in an increasingly competitive market where small requests like the change of an address should be instaneous, you would think that they would understand the importance of customer service and do their best to support their long-standing customers.
Very disappointing Filson......
