LORELAY FAUSSIER Our daughter has been a student since she was in first grade, and she is now about to complete her fourth year. All of these years have been wonderful. We love that all subjects are connected to God. While it took some time to adjust, once we got the hang of it, we wouldnt have it any other way. We appreciate that, as parents, we have control over what is being taught to our child.

Kassie Im revising my review to 3 stars because EA took my feedback seriously. Our experience was outstanding from grades 1-4, but their behavior at the start of grade 5 was unacceptable. Given our extremes of satisfaction (5-star) and disappointment (1-star), Im settling on 3 stars as a middle ground.

Brooke Farruggella I feel so sad seeing a couple negative reviews. This is the BEST homeschool program. It is extremely flexible with schedule and lessons. The teachers and counselors are quick to respond. The religious curriculum is age appropriate and worked through many different subjects and lessons. The curriculum is hard. But I appreciate that and know in the long run it will prove to help my sons excel. Projects are assigned at the beginning of the year and you Are able to see what you need for them, the timeframe it will take to complete them and are alternated with unit tests. There’s social activities, student council, art contests, spirit week, and many other additional social opportunities including weekly bible study. My son turned out to be dyslexic and the staff couldn’t be more helpful and consistent with checking in on him and seeing if he needed additional support. I’m very grateful for this school and the staff ❤️

Kim Richards Amazing, beautiful, educational, and supportive school. The teachers are amazing, the staff are amazing, and the school is one of a kind. It is not just a school but a community working to revitalize the Colville-Okanagan Salish language. They are a non-profit language immersion school, and as such are small and truly dedicated to their mission. My family, including five children have attended this school for the last five years and it never ceases to amaze me. Language revitalization is not easy, but the staff, teachers, and founders of the school are willing to sacrifice and put in the time to ensure that our next generation will not be the last generation to speak Colville-Okanagan Salish.

Megan Potter We love Windsong! Is what every kid and parent needs; more nature, art, attention, compassion, rhythm, love, warmth, and simplicity. This school goes above and beyond to give these kids what they need and what is good for them. Being at this school just makes me feel happy! The student family community is wonderful and we all work together and help eachoher out. The kids love school!! They get plenty of outdoor play (more than most schools). I wish every kid and parent had the opportunity to experience and attend Windsong. It’s just what Spokane needs (and anywhere for that matter). It’s what this world needs.

Scott C I often wonder, is this school meant more for me, than my children who attend it? Windsong is among the most bewildering gifts my family has received in our short formation. It was so different than anything we had experienced before, challenging us early and often to leave our preconceptions of “what a good education” means, and converting it to what I believe is a true understanding of how to foster and promote whole humans, armed with the confidence and knowledge of self. If only you knew my positions, my verbose opinions, and how the magic of this school, its teachers, faculty, parents and students collectively have offered to completely shift. As I mentioned, sometimes it feels this school was really for me, masquerading as an institution for children (though, we are all children still after all). One cannot help but be curious about another way of living when immersed in such unique environment. For parents questioning educational prowess, I can tell you my children are often joyfully performing arithmetic, grammar and the arts far ahead of public school peers. I say this with all grace, but the resources are totally different. Truly, Windsong deploys the “village” ethos, drawing on multiple teachers, and trusted parents at times, to bridge children’s education. Teachers generally follow student from 1st grade through 8th grade, so the students have a chance to build a meaningful trusting relationship with a non-parent adult. The teachers are fabulous. I don’t meant to try to sell you. But I’m sold. Very few places are safe these days. Windsong is a sanctuary in the chaos of today. I couldn’t recommend it more…

Gillian Louise We really loved our time at this school. Kumi Akiyama was an amazing and caring teacher. Both my girls had her for kindergarten. Her classroom was always such a warm and calm place. I cant recommend this school or Miss Kumi enough!

Abigail McDermott The entire staff is truly exceptional. From day one, they take the time to learn not only your childs name but also yours, and they consistently address you by name while recalling small details. They are outstanding educators who are respectful, encouraging, and loving, and they regularly share photos of your child throughout the day. The curriculum is excellent, and my child has adapted to learning very well. I am extremely pleased with this school, which also provides a supportive environment that values Jesus Christ.

Claire Richards We were attracted to North Wall because of the outdoor green areas. We liked our child’s teacher as a person but she was a new teacher and lacked mentorship. Very little prep time for curriculum development, no ongoing education or training of teachers and staff. There was no social emotional learning curriculum or visual calendars-- really basic stuff for the population that they claim to serve. The “gifted” teacher disciplined kindergarten and 1st graders for fidgeting. She actually left but they had no apparent plans for restarting the gifted program. Very poor communication about changes with substitute teaching or infections. School did not respond to multiple requests to share with other parents that a stomach virus was spreading in the school that had about a week incubation period and was very contagious. Ended up having a camping trip from hell because of it and they still wouldnt tell any of the parents or even respond to the request. There were safety issues, like a fire in a shed that wasnt communicated to parents; we only found out because the children informed us. After we expressed concerns about several near accidents with confusion in the parking lot about the right of way exiting the southern part of the lot and turning right vs people traveling south and turning left, they never followed up. They leave the front gate unlocked and didnt change the code for the entire time we were there. A lot of worksheets, poor organization, chaos, focus on holidays, especially Christian ones, despite claiming they didn’t push that. Lack of receptivity to feedback. Really odd lack of communication and follow-through. The one great thing is they are willing to allow parents to have their own aides/supports in the school. But they stopped letting parents visit once they started to become aware of how chaotic and unsupported the teacher was. Thing was, parents were concerned about things but couldnt actually connect with each other. Only parents who served on the board received contact information of other parents. If your child has special learning needs, I would go somewhere else. We later learned our child had vision problems that gave him headaches. Ill never forget the time he was punished for complaining loudly that the writing assignment was too long. We know four other sets of parent who withdrew their children due to dissatisfaction with similar concerns. We were so relieved to say goodbye to North Wall and go places where it has been so much easier on all these fronts. We can’t believe how good it feels to have our child in a different school.

Patrick Marquette Both of our children attend NWS and love it. The classroom environments are safe and allow room for engagements. You can tell that the staff is very engaging and that they truly love working there with the kids! The true test of talking to our children about school has proven nothing short of a successful decision to continued year-round enrollment.

den&love Im attending the barton school medical classes. Everybody is friendly and this is a place where i want to return again. I cant tell how happy I am! My english is growing up with every lesson! I highly recommended to everyone!
