Sandy Mendenhall Melannie is wonderful! She listens to my requests and always meets my needs and wants. I have been going to her for over 3 years for hair cut and foils and never once have I been unsatisfied. She’s always fun to chat with as well, simply put she is a very nice person.

Sue Hewett I had the best experience ever meeting my stylist. She is awesome and we hit it off like we were best friends. My hair is absolutely beautiful and I love it more than ever. I definitely know where I am going for now on!!!!

Kitty Evans Melannie does the most beautiful balayage ombré - perfect fade and tone. I’ve been seeing her since 2018 and she has done an amazing job every time. She has also done an array of cuts from chin length to long layers and she is just amazing at shaping. I decided to go back to my natural color once and she matched it to perfection. I trust her with just about anything I need done to my hair!

Melanie McGee Melannie was able to get me in during a hectic time of year. She was very polite and professional, and she gave an amazing cut to which I could not be more pleased. Ill be returning to see her in the near future!

Jennifer Jodock Richard is probably one of the most down-to-earth guys youll ever meet. I knew exactly what I wanted. He understood and made it better. He is probably one of the best artists that youll meet. Highly recommend! He really knows what hes doing! I love my haircut Richard ❤️ Thank you! Well have to do it again soon!

Diane Darling After four years of trying to find a good hair stylist in the Olympia area (after moving here from Seattle) , I finally found Richard. I can honestly say that he gives the best haircuts I have ever had. He knows hair, he knows what my hair wants to do, and he intuitively seems to know what will look best on me. hailie haubrick Krista did my hair. I asked for a full foil icy blonde. But let’s start with her being an hour late. She was cool when she first got there after being an hour late. Once she started putting foils in my hair, she started getting crazy, nodding out, dropping several things, passed out while she was trying to reach for something. Krista was mumbling her words, and could barely even shampoo my hair with out spraying everything around me, including my daughter sitting next to me .when I asked the owner if this looked good, he responded ‘that definitely needs a new foil that’s not right at all’ Krista said it was fine and looked good and just what I asked for. NOT AT ALL WHAT IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE. I left upset and in tears I couldn’t sit there any longer, not to mention I was there for 3 hours and 45 minutes to get this outcome… I called the salon and talked to the owner about how ruined my hair was and he proceeded to tell me it’s not ruined we just need to fix it. I didn’t just spend 3 hours and 45 minutes here to fix my hair, for it to be ruined, fried, and very unhappy to go back for them to attempt to fix what they already messed up. 10/10 do not recommend.

Steel Wasabi Been driving by this place for a long time finally stopped in after many failed salon visits at other places around town. I finally found a place Im happy to return to regularly. Michael the owner is a very talented hair stylist gave me exactly what I asked and even better honestly. The conversation was pleasant and even left feeling better about myself which was a surprise considering how self-critical I tend to be. Top-notch haircut definitely becoming a regular.

Marc Murphy I bought my girlfriend a Christmas gift certificate with Krista Wagner. Her blonde is on point. She will be her forever client!!!! Talk about talent she is amazing. She had so much fun hanging out with her she cant wait for her next appointment. And the atmosphere of the salon is so much fun. Michelle Johnson Krista has been doing my hair for years and years! She has colored my hair and she has highlighted my hair and she has cut my hair over the years. I have never ever left with a bad experience nor needed to go back and had anything corrected! Shes funny, shes witty. She cares and above all She is thorough on completing your hair as long as you are patient to go through the entire process! She listens to what you ask to have done. She offers advice on products that may be helpful. Overall, I would recommend Krista 100% to anybody who asks! I love her! Have been to a few different hairdressers over the years and Krista is the first hairdresser who is flexible to work with you and if you have to cancel, shes pleasant about it and allows you to reschedule it for as soon as possible which for me has usually been only about another week. Its nice when somebody cares that life sometimes gets in the way! Like I said. Love, Krista!

Samantha Edgerton I’ve been going to Krista since I moved to Olympia in 2023. I’ve got difficult hair thanks to unfortunate genetics (thinning)but she works some amazing magic with my hair. I’ve gone progressively blonder and the results have been impressive. I’ve gotten compliments from sometimes hard-to-impress family members. I highly recommend Krista and this salon.

Shanti Mai Susans was recommended to me by a friend who had just become a new client. My friend was impressed with how clean and careful she was of her clients during the pandemic, while giving a great haircut. I concur! Not only that, but her professionalism included NOT being worried or agitated due to said pandemic, but being completely professional - and relaxed and friendly. Would recommend her 100%.

John here Loved it, I have been going here for about a year now. Last week I needed a haircut and she actually had an opening 20 minutes from when I called. Susan is super friendly, cuts my hair quite well and her rates cannot be beat. Highly recommend coming here

My wife has been getter her hair cut by Jen for a little over a year and I was in desperate need of a hair cut so I booked last minute with Rey and he did exactly what I needed him to do. He is really personable and welcoming and his communication was super clear. I will definitely be booking with him again.

Courtney Summers I had my haircut done by Rey- and it was fantastic. I felt like there was special attention to how my hair grows and what would look best- as well as what was easy for me to maintain. Also- Jen worked with my son. They took special care to talk to him about what he wanted and how hed like his hair. They paused throughout the cut to show him parts and hear his feedback. He is normally uncomfortable and will simply agree with everything the stylist says- but they made him comfortable enough to advocate for what he wanted. Plus the product suggestion was awesome!

Mikel Keese I was lucky enough to experience Muse this past week and I’m so glad I did! Cyann is a true artist with hair extensions. I was completely new to extensions and they made me feel so welcome and comfortable in the salon. I’d recommend them to anyone!

Sarah Luensman Cyann has been my stylist from the very beginning and I will NEVER go back to my regular hair again. As soon as you walk in the door you are treated to a truly personal experience tailored specifically to your own needs. I love this space and love my hair so much that I even go in for weekly blowouts. Never in my life would I have thought I would devote so much attention to my hair, but it is the best decision I’ve made for myself and I’m never going back. Muse has truly changed the way I feel about my hair and the way I hold myself on a daily basis.

West Coast Auto Group Info The Muse way or no way. Cyann, Vic and Cami not only are a blast to hang out with but one of my favorite bi monthly stops. Cyann has been doing my hair for 2 years now, I’ve been wearing NBR for almost 4. I leave her chair every single time smiling, fulfilled and proud of who I am and the way I feel. This is by far the best thing a woman can do for herself and their obligatory “high maintenance to be low maintenance” slogan is spot on. I have never been more confident in my hair and used to be so insecure with the fact I never was able to have long, pretty hair like most women can. Thank you Cyann and team! Boni Belden-Doney Jim Hughes is one of the best hairdressers that Ive ever had. He is kind he listens and does what you ask him to do. Even if its against his better judgment. Ive been going to him for 6 years since Ive been up here. He is a family hairdresser and has styled hair four all the ladies in my family. You can trust him when he tells you that no that wont look good on you. I would tell everyone to go see Jim.

Richelle Peterson This is a small, quiet salon. I love that! Myra and Jim are wonderful and do a great job. Myra does my hair and provides excellent cuts and color. Always perfect!

Rob Bighead My daughter really enjoyed Ashley and Otto! Not every day you get accompanied by a cat on your lap while you get a cut. Ashley was so nice, friendly and really skilled. My daughter loves her cut.

Kate I had a great experience here. My cousin and I both donated 14" of our hair to Wigs for Kids here. This salon is the only local place Id found who facilitates hair donations on behalf of the customer (ie they cut and send the hair for you). I got a super cute cut and my stylist, Kylie, was a good conversationalist. I love the resident housecat, Otto who was just chilling in a salon chair. Each stylist station is super personalized as far as decor and this place has great vibes and plenty to look at.

Kaitlyn Leingang Sarah is absolutely marvelous. I went in with a very vague description of what I wanted and I couldnt be happier with the results. Im trying to learn how to take care of my curly hair instead of just straightening it, so I wanted a cut that would make that easier. In addition to a cut that really works with my hairs natural texture (wavy/curly), Sarah gave me some very helpful advice for caring for my hair.

Sierra Daley Dravi has been cutting my hair for the past couple years now. They always do an amazing job but at my last appointment I decided to go supreme and add in some highlights in a few shades of pink-ish. It was important to me that the highlights work well enough with my darker hair so I that I wouldnt have to worry about needing to get roots done right away. Boy did Dravi deliver! Its the best hair Ive ever had no doubt. I had the highlights done way back in July and now in October I havent yet had to get roots touched up because the blend is still rockin but I do plan to add more highlights and change up the color soon.

Ruth White Kitty is a color expert, but more importantly she has a huge heart. My 92 year old client discovered her and every week I take my client to Studio B and Kitty does her hair. My client wanted me to be sure to say “This is a clean and cheerful place to have your hair done.” Thanks for taking such good care of us everyone at Studio B!

Summer Mercier My daughter and I went to Studio B for the first time. Kitty really understood what hairstyles we were looking for and was very professional. Wendy always makes time for me. Tony is a stylist artist. My mullet doesn’t require his artistic attention so I stick with Wendy who is a skilled journeyman stylist. This salon is a great local business and I happily support them.

Ava Ford Back in October, I had an appointment to get my hair done and I was super excited! Especially because I always hear amazing things about Salt and wanted to try it out! But I unexpectedly got summoned and then chosen to be on the board for Jury duty, the day I had my appointment. I called the day prior to the final day of selection (this was on day 2 of going through selection and somehow I wasn’t dismissed yet lol) and I let the front desk know that I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to make it to my appointment the next day. Jury duty is something that is a day by day process and I couldn’t get it waived, so I had to abide by what the judge wanted. The response that I received from the front desk was that regardless of jury duty or not, I was going to be charged for half of the service because I called 24 hours prior. I’m not upset about the 24 hour rescheduling/cancellation fee (because it makes sense and I totally get it!!) but I was just shocked to find out that jury duty isn’t an exception even with documentation, when jury selection dates and decisions are out of my control. Overall, I was super bummed and didn’t end up rescheduling due to my schedule that was busier than usual the next few weeks. I really do hope to schedule again sometime and experience the goodness at Salt! I was a bit nervous to leave a review about this instance, but I figured I would just in case others have thoughts regarding jury duty or similar experiences. I hope to schedule soon :)

Sheryl Beck I love Salt! I have been patronizing this business for several years at this point and have consistently had a fantastic experience! The staff is fantastic. Their commitment to additional training means they are always growing in their knowledge and skill which makes Salt an excellent choice, for both classic looks and trendy cuts and colors. Salt is also staffed with really great people! You walk in a client and walk out as a friend. The salon itself is a clean and beautiful place where youll be offered coffee, tea or champagne to support your self-care experience. Now for the service. My hair ALWAYS looks beautiful when I leave the salon. Ive been a curly long-haired brunette, a bobbed blond and a bunch of things in between and every phase has been gorgeous! Long story short; I cant imagine trusting my hair to any other salon. Im Salty for life!

Megan Suter I had a great consultation and cut with Gabby. She spent a long time with me and I never felt rushed. She made my fine, wavy, mid-length hair look amazing and gave excellent advice for how to keep it looking that way between cuts. I’ve been looking for a good salon in Olympia and I’m happy to have found one!

Joseph and Frank I have gone here multiple times, and EACH time, they do NOT listen to what you say. For example, I said I want to LEAVE my bangs long. Now that should mean do not cut them, but she took my 6 inch bangs and made them 3 inches!! I do not recommend this place, pass it by!! I tried twice, disappointed both times, different "stylist" each time, did not help.

Naome Young Gabby is the Best. I came in with long, dry and damaged hair. She was so caring, wanting to make sure I got the exact cut I wanted. She informed me of all the products she used (which I will be getting from here from now on) took her time and in the end gave me a beautiful cut. I came here for a new me as part of a weightloss journey and had the best experience from the minute I scheduled my appointment to when I walked out the door. I will definitely be coming back for my highlights. This salon is beautiful, clean and friendly. I highly recommend. Thank you

Jasmine Highly recommend Stacy for all ages! I haven’t truly loved a hair experience in over 10 years—at minimum. My hair is difficult to work with; it’s very fine, thin, and brittle. Before coming in, I attempted to cut my own hair and ended up making a mess of it. With my hair already at chin length, there wasn’t much to work with. I was looking for guidance on the right cut and a color that would complement my skin tone. Stacy’s recommendations stood out because, despite seeing many top stylists in the area, no one had suggested what she did. She did a phenomenal job listening to my concerns and transforming my hair from dull to beautiful. I absolutely love the results and highly recommend her!

Thea Dettmer Saw Yelana. Loved her! She asked a lot of questions and really listened. She repaired my color which wasn’t easy because there were heavily bleached areas and dark color in the same hair shaft. She is a very talented colorist!

Victor Wu I moved here just a few months ago, and have been bouncing around trying different barbers/stylists in the Olympia area -- always a daunting task when moving to a new area. Was recommended to check out Son, and think I finally found the place! I was always leaving not quite satisfied with my haircut. Its nothing too complicated (a high fade, but with some nuances), but glad to finally have walked out completely satisfied. I think my Asian hair is a lot firmer/stubborn than some folks are accustomed to. Son was extremely patient and kind. The cut itself was very affordable compared to some of the other shops around here with the same level of care, service, and attention to detail. Happy to support this Asian business and glad I found my new go - to!

andrea peck Such an amazing salon. Son is one of the most talented stylists around and he charges a fraction of what other salons around here charge. I paid $40 for a $100 haircut! He is so sweet and patient and just such good vibes! I highly recommend this salon. I will be telling everyone I know to go see Son, and I will be a repeat customer, for sure.

Kris Beautiful, fun & sassy. I was 55 when I went in and came out looking 35. I went in for a new color and haircut. The color is beyond gorgeous. I’ve wanted a Bob style cut for years but, with my fine hair, it’s been tricky for other stylists to make it work. Son made it happen and I couldn’t be happier! His shop is quaint and friendly. If you’re a Seahawks fan, you don’t have to miss the game. He’s open on Sundays and the game will be on!

Pamela Pratt Dunnia is my hair stylist here. She especially loves coloring, but is good in every other category, and seems to me to be quite reasonable in her price structure. She listens attentively to my requests and follows thru with my wishes, which I have found to be hard to find in a stylist! Usually a stylist tends to want to just follow their own plan, or they are highly irresponsible with their bookings...Dunnia is responsible, thoughtful, and intentional. :) Also, she always remembers what we done in the past visits, as well as future plans. Love working with her!

Desiree Ticknor OMG! Finding a stylist that has magic hands with my curls is like looking for a unicorn but Diena is it when it comes to my curly hair. Yesterday was my second appointment with her and I am so in love with my cut and color! Thank you soooo much!

Kathrine Ball I would NOT recommend Dunnia Fischesser. This was my first time with this hairstylist and she ruined my hair. I went in for a color and cut. When I went in I had medium brown hair with gray roots on scalp and sides. After Dunnia colored my hair it ended up with some blond patches in the back, still seeing some of the gray and my hair has a red tinge to it. My hair cut was horrible. I have very thin hair and explained how I wanted it cut. A little bit short on top to give it some height, feather on the sides and blend in the back. My hair cut didn’t even come close to that. I now have some bald spots in the back, no height, sides are cut straight across and in the back it is all hacked up. I was so upset and wasn’t paying attention and when I got home I noticed she overcharged me 60.00. I texted her and told her that she overcharged me and to refund me my money. I have not heard anything back.

June Fun Soon was amazing. My hair was totally fried from home dying. My hair was so bad I couldnt begin to brush it, style it, anything. I was afraid I was just going to have to cut most of my hair off. She did a keratin treatment that totally revived my hair. I can now brush and style it again. I am so impressed. I would totally recommend her to anyone.

Joanne Kim I am blown away by Yunique Hair studio! My haircut by Soon Lee is by far one of the best cuts Ive gotten in my entire life. As an Asian American, its been hard to find hair stylists that know how to work with Asian hair. Im also from So Cal where they boast of Korea towns expert asian stylists. BUT I have to say, Soon Lees cut is the best Ive ever gotten! I am so thankful that Soon Lee actually listened to what I wanted and delivered above and beyond what I even knew I needed. She blocked off several hours for me and my young daughter to give us an excellent hair cut. I was shocked by how thorough and careful she was. My daughters hair is so well layered and I didnt know how silky her hair was! I highly recommend Yunique Hair Studio! I also saw another person walking out with a GORGEOUS hair- the color on the client was beautiful! I think the stylist was Mellicent! Rogers Diane The Absolute Best. Soon is the ONLY hairstylist in Washington State Id trust with my thin and fine hair. I have never had a stylist spend so much time on my hair before (90 mins per VISIT). She makes me feel like a celebrity!! Her attention to detail is second to none and she customizes the cut and look for each person precisely. Phenomenal!!! Plus her womens haircut and style prices are very reasonable. VIP customer service without the Beverly Hills sticker shock. She could be charging 3-4x for the work she does, but Im so glad she doesnt so that mere mortals like me can afford her services! My husband also gets his monthly hair cut from her and were both very pleased with Soon and Yunique. Shes a real Keeper!! A++++

L Breed This was my first appointment with Sun Hair and Nail Salon, but it wont be my last. Yvonne was very knowledgeable about working with baby fine hair. She listened to my concerns and shared her thoughts about how to cut my hair for the most volume and ease of care. We recently moved to Olympia and I told her that finding a stylist who understood fine hair was more stressful than finding a primary care doctor, but Yvonne reassured me and I ended up with an excellent cut that will be easy to maintain. I appreciate her for her expertise and also her kind and caring personality. The salon is attractive, clean and was very busy in a good way. I am very happy to have found Yvonne!

Zoe Muons Yvonne is a miracle worker. Truly. I am a 76yo female with hair loss and she did a wonderful job of not only cutting it, but also teaching me very easy ways to style it myself. I am so happy to have found her! And BTW, I found her after complementing two unrelated friends on their haircuts and both told me that it was Yvonne. Easy decision! Go! You will not be disappointed!

They graciously invited me in and gave me the best shampoo with scalp massage and haircut Ive had in a long time. Thank you for the outstanding service!

Vx Vixen I am pretty disappointed with the quality of their work. But Im giving 2 stars because I went it as a walk in last minute and they accepted me, they were nice and even offered complimentary snacks and hot tea which was different. I paid $60 for a mani & pedi and they just rushed through everything, the pedicurist scratched my ankle while doing the callus removing, the manicure hardly addressed my cuticles. (I even mentioned that they looked dry and needed some attention.) she said shed work on them after the polish dried, and never did. They were pretty persistent and upgrading to gel polish, and seemed up happy that I just wanted a regular manicure. And after everything less than 48 hours later my manicure literally fell apart. It didnt chip like normal polish usually does but lifted off. I could peel it off completely... Im from California and travel a lot for work. Am constantly trying new places and leave reviews for the next person looking for something good. All I can say is that Im extremely disappointed with the results of this place, hopefully in the future they chose to have decent quality brands for regular polish, not just gel.
