Jenna Truttschel Scheduled a last minute appointment as I was in town for work. The staff was very nice and the girl who did my nails was detailed yet efficient. Love how the gel color turned out! One week in and color is holding up great.

Andrew Kim First and last time getting my nails done here. I got gel X and level 2 nail art, which was an extra $32. They were originally trying to charge me for level 3 nail art, $47. Pricing was not a problem until I saw the final results. It really looked nothing like the picture I showed. There really was no attention to detail, and I could tell the nail tech was rushing to finish. It actually makes me sad looking at my nails lol. Don’t go here unless you want to waste your money!!!!

Robin Ringman Ive been a few times to both locations, but saw Taleah for the first time last week and it is truly the best manicure Ive ever had. Even the shape she made my nails was just perfect. She was patient and helped me find the best colors but truly the quality of the manicure is the most important part! Super gentle, my cuticles are perfect and she was so careful and fast with application.

Liz Clemons Excellent service and very clean! They provide a free cocktail with service. They also keep for you a box that contains salon provided tools that are used exclusively for your services at each of your appointments. I got the dip powder with gel and a basic pedicure. For the standard prices the quality is fantastic. Annie did my dip! I highly recommend Annie for dip nails mani. My nails and toes came out very well balanced and perfectly shaped. I recommend building in some extra buffer time before your appointment to get parking.

Mary Jane I needed my nails done in a PINCH and they were able to get me in at 9am after I booked online at 11pm the night before. It can be hard to find good places that do gel x nails without booking far ahead! Annie did a great job and the whole staff was so friendly. I was served a drink and had a view of Lake Washington while my nails were done. Everything was clean (which is honestly a big concern for me), and they have a sweet hypo-allergenic dog, “Aqua,” who hangs around the shop too. I think I just found my new nail home :’)

Lola I just moved here, and needed to find a new technician after 6 years. These ladies do a very high quality job. I got a regular pedicure and soft gel on my hands - they use The Gel Bottle and have some DnD colours. I was really happy with the result - I paid $65 for nails. They are also very kind.

Nada Ramadan I wanted to switch from my old nail salon and this place is my new nails gem!! I did my nails there ~3 weeks ago and they’re still fresh AF! Emmy is so artistic. And their prices are so reasonable. (Picture taken after 3 weeks of having this color on)

Ivonne V The ladies here are super kind and excellent at what they do. I always feel a bit intimidated when asking for changes, or having someone fix something I’m not loving —mainly because of language barriers—but here they’re super kind and happy to accommodate the request. Their massages are so good, both, hand and feet.

Cat Nguyen I truly cannot say enough good things about this nail salon! The fact that it’s a family run business makes the vibe feel so welcoming, warm and comfortable. Everyone was so incredibly sweet and accommodating, HUGE emphasis on accommodating!!! My friend and I had walked into the salon during the last hour of their day, hoping to get a fill. At first, the ladies were hesitant to take us in, but after noticing how disappointed we were, they kindly decided to make it work. Not only did they welcome us in, but they even stayed two hours past closing just to make sure our nails were absolutely perfect and to our liking. I’ve never experienced this level of dedication and care at any other salon - it meant so much! As for the technicality of the nails, I was truly beyond impressed. My nail tech took her time to make sure my set was absolutely perfect, paying attention to every single detail. A special shoutout to Vi -she is hands down the sweetest and most hardworking nail artist I’ve ever had. Her patience, skill, and kind-hearted nature made my whole experience even better. Because of her, I’ll definitely be coming back :). If you’re looking for a salon that genuinely values their customers and does an amazing job, this is definitely the place to go!

Shelley Rosmarin Greenhouse is one of my favorite nail salons in the area. The staff is so friendly and the space is very comfortable with lots of big windows and natural light. I like that I can make an appointment online and it is appointment only. They always do a great job.

Jamie Sansone The staff are all very kind and welcoming. The environment is quiet and calming… I loved watching the snow fall out the big windows. All the materials were meticulously clean and Gina took her time taking care of my sensitive cuticles.

Ariel Garay I have FINALLY found my new favorite nail salon located in Seattle. It’s been a long search but this place is worth everything. All the staff seem friendly and nice, Nancy who worked on my manicure and pedicure was so detail oriented and thorough I am so blissfully happy with my fingers and toes. The place was kept clean and followed CDC guidelines and then some. I am definitely going again because I have found my new happy place ☀️Highly recommend to anyone to go here!!

Julie Johnston I have visited this nail salon for at least a decade. I visited elsewhere when I moved out of the neighborhood but found no where else compared to Lavish Nails. Friendly professionals and consistent quality work done. After not going for a year or so, I went back and Amy immediately remembered me and called me by my name. I was blown away. I cant recommend enough!

Jana El This place is amazing! I appreciate the good training you gave your staff. The trip was worthwhile, as was the cost to me. Every time from Bellevue, I drive there. Here in Bellevue, I dont like any nail salons. Additionally, they rush in and overcharge. Thank you Amy for amazing businessand service!

Sara Gharbi-Reinking Yuki was wonderful, very detailed and beautiful work on my gel manicure, I greatly appreciated her work. Communication is really great, the nail studio texts reminders and I was even able to update my ETA to them directly with a quick response. The space is intimate and small with very calm music playing and seemingly good ventilation as there was no odor- most definitely recommend.

Brittany Browne Update to previous review: I had 5 manicures at Yamanda. The first two were exceptional - lasted for 3 weeks each time and were beautiful. However, subsequent manicures lasted less than a week due to very strange vertical cracking of the polish. I’ve never had that happen before and it’s a little frustrating to pay $60+ to have a manicure that only lasts a couple of days before cracking. I had the polished removed and am now dealing with extremely damaged natural nails. I believe this is as a result of over-use of e-filing on my natural nails which has left them paper-thin. I now have many months of recovery before my nails are back to being healthy. As you can see from the picture below, you can see swirl marks left on my natural nail bed from the drill. PROs: I’m still very impressed with the salon - the nail techs are very professional, and the salon is immaculate. Every manicure I saw or received looked beautiful, and the range of colors and designs is extensive. They also really care about education as the salon will be closed later this month for the technicians to take some additional courses. CONs: If you have natural nails, they are going to take a beating because of the use of the harsh manner in which gel is removed and use of the efile to prep nails. I’m so disappointed as I was so impressed with the salon. Sadly, getting a manicure here will be reserved for special occasions only rather than as regular self-care. Enjoyed a manicure at Yamanda, courtesy of Tina. I have to say this is probably the best French manicure I’ve ever received. The picture is day 11, and it still looks absolutely fantastic. I’ve even received compliments from friends who never comment on my nails! The salon itself is very small, and quite busy so there is much activity happening all around you. Everything is very well organized and they definitely make the best use of the small space. I will definitely return this this salon and Tina. Added bonus is being able to schedule appointments on- line.

Jennifer Hanada Vivian did such a thorough job cleaning my cuticles. Even though I’ve had a pedicure done recently there was still much to remove and she was sure to get them all out. She even included a much needed exfoliation, foot massage and cooling mask. She even accommodated an outlet to charge my device for me. She is definitely my go to for pedicures!

Blessing Musgrove This is my second time here, I will definitely be coming back! This place is the best nail place I have ever been to. They were so kind and helpful in helping me find the color and style I wanted. The first time I came here I got lilac dip power with holographic chrome I loved it so much that this time I got something similar with a darker lavender dip powder nails with the holographic chrome on top. And I absolutely love it! If you haven’t tried chrome before you definitely should get it done here, they are very skilled. Thank you Savvy Nails for my beautiful nails!

Gillian Laming I started going to Savvy Nails because it got great reviews, and I will say the reviews didnt lie! The salon is always packed when I go, and for good reason. The staff is amazing, I have never waited more than 10 minutes for my nail appointment to start, and they do good work. I think their pricing is super reasonable and they have fantastic rewards! I get gel and acrylic when I go, and they have a really large selection of colors (overwhelming, really!) and I have been very pleased with how my nails have turned out every time. A bonus is their online scheduler works great. I appreciate being able to easily schedule and change my appointments on my own. Overall, would highly recommend the very hardworking folks at Savvy! You wont be disappointed.

9.Kim Studio Nails

Address: 6011 Roosevelt Way NE, Seattle, WA 98115

(149) Reviews Kim Studio Nails:

Mackenna Rowe I’m sad because this place had such good reviews but I was cut many times, there’s white polish not fully cleaned up and now sealed onto the nude polish. Polish on the sides of my fingers, the white lines are uneven and the nails are chunky. I’ve been getting my nails done for years and this is the first time I feel compelled to leave a negative review. This was not worth $75 :( The nail prep was also very minimal so I am concerned to see how long these end up lasting. 10.28.24 updated- the owner Kim redid my nails and it is much better this time. I can only recommend seeing her as I can’t guarantee the other artists will do a good job. But I am happy with the customer service at this salon!

Genevieve Condron They were super quick and affordable. I got a spa gel pedicure with hot stones and removal plus a gel acrylic overlay manicure. All together it was 94. My only complaint is they are a little rough. I have some cuts on my fingers from when they were grinding the nails down. I would recommend but make sure to have an appointment because they are busy.

Jessica Luo Came in asking to have my acrylics removed and said I didn’t have an appointment. I was very appreciative that they serviced me right away, even though I could tell they were booked and busy! Paid $40 (in cash, excluding tip) for the acrylic removal + new gel set. Giving 4/5 stars because my newly painted gel nails started to crack less than two days later :( the cracks aren’t noticeable to others, just me. Maybe it was the polish I chose. They also seemed like they rushed my appointment, even though I said I was happy to just do the nail removal and/or come back later. Overall, would come again but with an appointment!

Malkoff Edith “Salty” Wow. I have lived next to this place for several years and never even noticed it. What a hidden gem. I have never had such a fantastic experience in nail salons, I tend to think they are better in my head than in real life. This time, my mom had come to visit, and we had been working super hard on a project, just over-techd and stressed out all week. First off: BEST MASSAGE CHAIR I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. That, in itself, was already worth coming. The Covid precautions were fantastic, and we were the only ones in this relatively small salon so it felt like one of those Real Housewives post-covid episodes where they have to rent out the entire restaurant. I loved it. Lee was my nail technician, and I had looked up some pictures of cute nail designs before hand. I asked if she would look at some of the pictures, and on the first one (the one I liked most) she got so excited! It made me wonder if this whole time Ive been going to nail salons and getting plain solid paint that Ive been boring them. Let me tell you, the veracity of this woman. She came up with her own things to add to the design to make it better. She helped me choose colors she thought would work together, since I told her I wasnt too attached. Also - I HAVE NEVER HAD A HARDER TIME PICKING A NAIL COLOR. They have fantastic colors here. I feel like it took me 15 minutes to choose. My mom decided to treat me to the Super Deluxe Treatment, I dont know exactly what it was called, but it was hot stones, a super duper amazing massage -- they were laughing at me almost falling asleep, I was so relaxed, parafin wax treatment that felt like a hug on my feet, and all the while the massage chair was doing its thing. I was so relaxed. Incredible considering where I was earlier that day. This AMAZING WOMAN, Lee, she was focusing so intently on my nails doing the delicate lines with a detail brush, when she took me over to the manicure table she put on her glasses and crawled on the floor to give me the top coat because she was so proud of her work. First she did it without glasses and then she put on her glasses to make sure it was up to her standard. I really felt like a canvas she was making a painting on. LEE YOU ARE THE BEST, I CANT TELL YOU HOW HAPPY MY NAILS ARE MAKING ME. Anyway, she laughed at my hand dinosaur and all my stupid jokes and she talked to me as much as she could through her intense focus. I was so impressed. I felt so spoiled. I love her. Im coming back as much as I can afford, and I made sure to take a lot of pictures so you guys know what youre missing. This place is a hidden gem. Youd never expect to find complete peace on Aurora, unless youre into certain illegal things, but damn if this place doesnt do it. 10/5 stars. Incredible experience. I will recommend this place to anyone I can think of. Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic.

Sari Weinstein Nina and her team are fantastic! I trust her to do such a great job with my dip manicures and knows what she is doing, as well as the rest of her employees. I came to her after I went to a different place on vacation (never going to do that again!) and she fixed it. My dip manicures have consistently lasted at least a month, if not a week longer than that, and I am hard on my hands. They always do a great job. Women-owned and women-run. Great business to support :).

T A This review is specifically for the owner! I can’t speak to the service of the others as my appointments are usually with Sarah, who is really meticulous and talented with designs! They’re usually on time with appointments and I always love how my nail designs turn out. If I lived closer I’d be here every month. Definitely recommend giving them a call and booking an appointment!

L Me and my girlfriend came in here for 2 manicures and 2 pedicures. There were four women working in the salon, the pedicures were great and her manicure was wonderful, but the younger woman who did my manicure felt really rushed, even though there werent any customers waiting for their turn. This photo was taken right after we got home. The nail drill on my nails didnt seem like it did anything other than put deep grooves in my nails and my cuticles were left in worse condition than when I got there. The prices were great and the other 3 women did a great job. Would come back for a pedicure or if I got a manicure from a different employee.

Stella Margarita Gonzalez Even though this place does not advertise themselves being able to do design, they always knock it out of the park. Daisy was able to take my Pinterest inspiration pic and make it a reality! It was so amazing seeing her work, and how receptive she was to feedback. I’ve been going here consistently for 2 years now and the prices are never a surprise. Also, checking in with your phone number at the front desk tablet always leads to coupons. So worth the visit!

Natasha Bates I have been getting powder dip nails here for 6 years and am a devoted customer. I haven’t been able to find the consistent care and quality anywhere else! They take their time and maintain the condition of the nail, caring about your repeated business rather than rushing customers with rough treatment in order to get many walk-ins through. Please make an appointment rather than walk in because often their schedules are full. Thank you Tran & all techs!
5 /5
Grace Henneford I have been coming here for the last few months and have gotten both gel and dip powder. The nail tech who does the dip powder (red nails) did a wonderful job. I feel like she really listened to what I liked and communicated potential ways of addressing things I may not have liked as much such as the thickness of the paint. A different nail tech has done gel for me a few times both here and at Greenlake. Normally they are really nice (green and blue), but the purple set I wasnt as big of a fan because there ended up being air bubbles once it dried which is hard to determine what might have caused it. Overall good experiences with very kind and hard working individuals.
5 /5
Tamara Boyle I love both this and the greenlake location, but my girl Anh take the cake. I’ve been seeing her for the past year or so and she does by far the best Dip I’ve ever had, anywhere else it seems to crack whereas her attention to detail and magic touch makes it last a SOLID 3+ weeks if not longer. I trust her (as well as the other gentleman who’s name I don’t remember!) with advice on color selection, extensions or just a good old classic manicure. On top of a good manicure I always enjoy a good giggle with Anh or her colleague. Highly recommend!

Celia Curran First time here and I already know Im coming back. I just came in for a quick pedi, and they were wide open on a Saturday, which should be surprising but it was the first 70 degree day of the year. My biggest issue with most nail techs is the sides of the big toes issue (mine are just annoying enough to hurt without being medically ingrown.) My tech took so much time and care to ease the calloused skin out of the area while also carefully cleaning up all cuticles and hang nails. I havent even gotten up from the chair yet and I cal already tell that my toes wont be hurting for a long time. I will definitely be back and Im looking forward to trying out more services.

Alaina Ankrom I have been to Nail salons all over the country and this place is by far my favorite! 2nd time going here. First-Gen family owned business, these people love what they do and are damn good at it. For about $50 I got a hot stone, 10-15 minute leg/foot massage, foot wax, salt scrub and lotion/moisturizer pedicure. This also included the nail color, foot maintenance (dead skin) nail maintenance and everything. They have massage chairs that work and the folks are incredibly friendly. Exceptional service, Clean and friendly business that plays classical music and covered in beautiful plants! I will be back :)

Kat Ingalls I decided to come here after reading the great reviews for dip manicures. First, I do want to say that the couple who run the place are very nice - the husband is the one who did my manicure, and was a lovely person. This place is also super clean, and I appreciated seeing that they don’t reuse tools. Now for the downsides: before putting on the dip, my nails were cut and shaped, but absolutely nothing was done to my cuticles. After communicating that I was primarily coming in for the “hygiene” aspect of the manicure, and wanted my cuticles cleaned up, there was a cursory trimming done. No cuticle remover, dead skin wasn’t removed, and cuticles weren’t pushed back at all. It’s been over a year since I’ve had my nails done, and about 3 since I’ve had a dip manicure - so I thought maybe I just forgot the “order” things are done in. I’ve never *not* had the basic cleaning experience included in a manicure (cleaning under nails, exfoliating dead skin around nail bed, pushing back cuticles). At this point - since I was directly communicating a desire for cuticle care in particular - I would expect to be told this was an additional service if that was the case. I wasn’t told that, but again, I’m assuming the best. The man proceed to do my dip color, which turned out lovely…except for the gaps around the color and my nailbed. (First photo, taken *during* appointment) When heading to the register, I did communicate a second time that I was expecting to have a *manicure* - not just color. I was told for the first time ever that “that’s a separate service.” That was never communicated. Even after I expressed my expectations *during* the appointment, this “additional service” was never suggested or offered. I left feeling slightly disappointed, but I didn’t want to leave a bad review for a small business. But now even the service I *did* pay for (“just the dip”) is not holding up well. I’m used to dip manicures lasting *at least* two weeks. This one lasted only 7 days before the paint started detaching. (Second photo) I wish this business well, but for a $45 “dip manicure,” I expected the manicure portion to be included, and the color to last more than a week.

Meagan Leader When I lived in shoreline I would always go to this nail place and Julie was always amazingly sweet to me. I feel none of the nail techs I have ever had compare to julie. Shes very friendly, personable. Im recently in downtown Seattle and been going to this nail place and they did my nails ok at times but this time messed up my nails badly. Julie fixed them for me, gave me a massage back and hand. She also does an amazing job with eyebrow waxing as I been there before for that. It took her a while with my nails but she took her time and made them perfect and fixed them up which I appreciated! My fiance agreed the nails look 100 times better! I would definitely go back to julie and travel to shoreline for my nails its worth the trip. If you are thinking of trying this salon you will not be disappointed. Just know she takes her time and does not rush but she makes everything look perfect in the end!!

Ina Stap Updated 7/30/22: docked off two stars because shellac peeling got worse while I was asleep! See last two photos. Worst shellac experience Ive ever had. (And I havent been doing anything crazy activity-wise) Duyen did an awesome job on my regular pedicure! It can sometimes feel like the Seinfeld episode with Elaine but the ladies seem nice overall. I love that this place doesnt require you to wear a mask like some other nail salons in Seattle but I was quite disappointed in my shellac manicure. Lint strands got stuck in a few places and usually my shellac doesnt usually start chipping so early (it hasnt even been a week!) I ended up getting 3 nails redone at a different salon (see photo #6); They initially thought I had a regular manicure, commenting on how thin the polish looked. I overall had a relaxing time and at the end enjoyed a little back massage, but got progressively more unhappy as time passed. I get shellac whenever I want my nails to look great for several weeks and have never felt the need to redo nails before. The shellac machines could use a cleaning every now and then (especially to minimize the chance of any possible lint/dust getting in there.) Would maybe come back for a pedicure... maybe. Hope the staff members visit other salons themselves to see how they could improve their business. Theres so much potential!

Lillie Ponnusamy I really appreciate the products and care that Opal utilizes. My nails were getting weak with regular gel manicures at another shop, and I havent looked back since switching to Opal. Since all of their booking is online, I never feel like my service is rushed. And Kayla always brings my nail art dreams to life!

Irina A Tried this place out and I love it. If you don’t like the strong smell of a traditional nail salon you’ll love this one. It’s natural based, clean so if you get any seasonal eczema on your hands or anything like that this place is wonderful since they use mild or nontoxic products. Their products won’t trigger any skin issues. Alison is great. The polish she use doesn’t chip easily. Highly recommend them.

Kira Kearsley I was really excited to get my nails done here and booked an appointment online. I arrived on time, but when I walked in, no one greeted me or acknowledged me. After waiting about 5 to 10 minutes and checking my phone, a staff member finally asked if I was checking in. When I confirmed that I had an appointment, she informed me that the nail technician had gone home early due to illness. No one had called to notify me, even though I had driven a considerable distance to get there. Additionally, I had noted in my booking that I had dip nails, but they do not offer dip removal as a service. I also attempted to call ahead but was unable to leave a message. I was considering hosting my bachelorette party here and had booked this appointment as a trial run. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and acknowledgment left a disappointing first impression. One thing I noticed on their website is that they require clients to give 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or face a charge. Yet, my appointment was canceled within that same timeframe without any notice or consideration for my time. If the situation had been reversed, I would have been charged. It would be nice if that policy applied both ways so that customers are treated with the same respect the salon expects from them. That being said, the salon has a beautiful interior and a lovely ambiance. However, better communication—such as notifying clients of cancellations and acknowledging them upon arrival—would greatly improve the experience. ---- In response to your response: Thank you for your response. No, I had never been a client at Opal before, and I was looking forward to it. The reason I wasn’t a client is that I never received the service I booked. While I understand my appointment was made on short notice, the issue remains: I was not notified that the technician was unavailable until I arrived. I was told she had been there but left early due to illness, meaning the appointment was initially valid, yet I was never informed of the change. Additionally, your website does not clearly state that dip removal isn’t offered. I noted in my booking that I had dip powder and would not have scheduled an appointment had I known this. That said, I appreciate the referral to the salon down the street, as they were able to accommodate me—thank you for that. I stand by my review because customer experience is not just about receiving a service but also about how clients are treated from the moment they walk in. I hope my feedback helps highlight the areas I was referring to.

Autumn Williams They are the best. I have been a lot of places to have my nails done. They are very professional. They also have Jenny nails to where you can go sit in the medical massage chair. You also can get champagne while youre getting your nails done. If thats not for you they also have amazing smoothies.
