This incompetent insurance brokerage neglected to inform me that my insurance with Safeco would automatically start at the ridiculously over-inflated cost unless I found a new carrier immediately. The quoted insurance was 5x higher ($8461) with a 16 year old driver addition. I told my broker that was too much and I wouldnt accept it- they could have switched me to CIG at that time for a mere 2x increase; but instead did nothing. Since I was unaware their inquiry of new rates automatically started, I am now stuck with a $533 bill for a 22 day time period before I found a new insurance broker. Safeco sucks with their rates- obviously dont want to insure new drivers; but the handling of this situation by Basin Insurance was pathetic. My last email took 6 days to get a response. Several times I called, only to get an answering machine, and they take no responsibility in the lack of information- not even an "Im sorry", overall just incompetent. Busy professionals dont have time to do all the research on their own, which is why insurance brokers exist. Beware of this brokerage!
