1 /5 Myeshia-Marie Weaver: Firstly- let me start off by saying this is was by far the WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH AN ATTORNEY. I am going through a very personal traumatic situation and needed sound legal advice. I reached out to Elizabeth to gain a second opinion. I started this process on 11/15/2022 and it took over two weeks to get a confirmed date for a consultation. I was understanding and provided grace. As a working professional myself I understand how busy and hectic things can be especially at the end of the year. When I finally got the consultation date confirmed it was then met with an last minute request to reschedule. Again, I provided grace and moved the consultation to once again fit Elizabeths needs. I was told by their assistant that I can send over supporting documents and that the attorney (Elizabeth) would review prior to the consultation (screenshot added). Fast forward to this morning 12/19 at 10am.
I meet with Elizabeth and from the start she had a very unpleasant disposition, lacking empathy and care. She was to unwilling to listen and did not attempt to understand throughout the entire consultation. I made the mistake of assuming she would read the supporting documents before hand, but Elizabeth made it very clear that she did not. She visibly got upset with me while I was trying to give her details of my situation and answer her questions. It even got to the point, where I said, "You appear to be getting frustrated by my responses, is there something I am doing wrong?" I was met with, "Yeah, you just keep going on these tangents" At this point I was floored, I could tell that all she cared about or wanted was the $300 fee which was paid well in advance.
Elizabeth talked down to me, was rude, interrupting me mid response the ENTIRE 20mins I spoke with her. Her behavior towards me, and they way she spoke to me was utterly disrespectful. I felt so disrespected that I stopped her 20 minutes into a paid one hour consultation and verbalized to her that I did not appreciate how she was treating me and that she now has my $300 which is cool, but I will NOT be continuing this consultation. I stated, "I am going through trauma, you have no empathy nor care for me or my situation. You are being extremely rude and unprofessional" I also feel as though Elizabeth was so quick to "talk down" to me because I a woman of color.
In conclusion, if you are looking for sound legal advice from an attorney who will be prepared, actually hear your story, value your time and have empathy, then PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE!
