North Whidbey Help House - Oak Harbor Stormi Bradford: The front desk lady was very kind and helpful. However, I’m 9 months pregnant, and when I asked for help to carry food out to my car, an employee gave me attitude and said, “Well, it doesn’t mean youre broken.” My due date is in 6 days, and I have a high-risk pregnancy. Reading through other reviews, Ive noticed that this isn’t the first time they have given pregnant women a hard time asking for help. So, if you are pregnant and need assistance carrying stuff, I suggest going to another food bank or bringing someone who can help.
Not to mention, most people going to food banks struggle in one shape or another. My family and I have been struggling with homelessness for 7 months, and Im about to have a baby. You would think people working for programs designed to help those in need would share more kindness.
