1 /5 S: This was my second visit to Timber Gym, and unfortunately, it left a bad impression. I recently moved here from out of state and was excited to find a gym where I could continue my training. During this visit, I was trying to find a female Olympic lifting bar and asked the owner for help. He handed me a bar, claiming it was a female Olympic bar, but it clearly wasnâtâthe shaft wasnât long enough to fit the rack or have the correct hand position for Olympic lifting. When I pointed this out, he dismissed me, saying that no female bars fit their racks, as if I didnât know what I was talking about. I explained that at my previous gym, female bars fit the racks just fine, and his response was, âThen go to your other gym.â
This interaction was incredibly disappointing. I expect a gym owner to be knowledgeable, respectful, and welcomingânot dismissive and condescending. As someone new to the area, I was hoping to find a supportive and professional gym, but Timber Gym is clearly not the environment Iâm looking for. I wouldnât recommend it to others seeking a positive training space.
