Michael Groome Reviewing a church feels odd because its not some local business. Nonetheless heres why I love this church. First off, you can read their statement of faith to know some of the foundations they believe, know that I agree so lets skip that stuff. They teach from the Bible. They mostly go through books and the sermons are not often topical. Every single sermon is brought back to the gospel and thats is the cornerstone of the church. Second thing I love about this church is the emphasis on community. They want to encourage and show a loving gospel community. This even showed in what they call their "community groups", that being Gospel Community Groups. There are no fancy light shows, though we do have some talented musicians and a wonderful sound team. Theres authentic biblical teaching and a call to live life together and serve the community and the world!

The whole church was so welcoming and friendly as well. We have found a new family here. God is definitely using the people in this body to expand his Kingdom. They love God and the Bible is what Pastor David preaches. So blessed to have found this group of God fearing fellow believers that love us and encourage us to be all God has intended for our lives.

Crystal B The preschool is incredible. A really fun, highly educational and genuinely caring establishment. My son is more than ready for kindergarten next year. My younger son will begin at Celebration Friends in the fall. The teachers are enthusiastic and joyful. The office staff, youth minister and minister are warm and friendly. Any questions or concerns are addressed thoughtfully and with compassion. They care about their students. They care about the families. From what I can tell they all are happy to be there and work as a team. Recess is spent with all classes and all teachers on the playground with the students. Children are able to make friends outside of just their class and learn the valuable lesson of respecting all the teachers/grownups at the school. If you aren’t sure where to send your child or are at all worried about how your child will do, whether it’s their first year or second, this is the caring, understanding and just plane fun school for you and your child. I also wrote a rather long review on yelp with initials CB in case you want a more in depth review.

Somehow i got myself wrapped up in my job, and building a couple of businesses that I stopped attending Church. One day i was driving somewhere and something told me to turn around and i somehow subconsciously ended up at this Church. My eyes were filled with tears, because i felt lost in life that I didn’t know who I was. I met one of the Church elder we talked for a bit because he had to be somewhere so I gave someone to give him my #. 3 weeks past and i never got a return call. I still attend Church every other week and I met 3 other men that are helping me overcome my epic obstacle. I’m still struggling. But I have their # that I could talk with Spiritual/ personal level. I am so “Thankful” that the Lord lead me in front of these men !!!

I have been to a lot of Churches in my life, and not one compares to this one!!! We believe the teaching is Biblically sound, the community feels like family, and we continue to grow spiritually through solid Biblical teaching and discipleship. We love that its not just a place but a people. Its not a church where you just go on Sundays and then go on with your week. Its a community of believers who strive to live out the gospel every day and encourage one other to be on mission for Christ.

Lori Lidstrom Finding Sufficient Grace Church was a huge blessing. After experiencing a church closure in 2022 we were looking to get plugged into a church community that felt like home, family and would offer our family a place to grow spiritually. We care about solid doctrine, and SGC delivers on that. Walking into SGC felt like a warm hug from an old friend. Fast forward 3 years and we are connected, learning and growing spiritually! Praise God!

Kelsey Gonzalez We moved to Puyallup from Texas in 2022 and immediately started looking for churches in the area. Within a few weeks of us landing on Sufficient Grace, our son had an accident that turned into an ambulance ride to the ER and some really stressful and anxious hours following that. I was pregnant with my third kid at the time and the ambulance driver told me that I couldn’t ride with them because I was pregnant so I watched them drive away with my son and husband. It just so happened that we were hosting a family from Sufficient Grace for dinner that night and they immediately jumped in and offered to have one of them stay at my house to watch the rest of the kids while the other drove me to the ER. I was so shaken up and I didn’t know the area yet so it was great that she did that. On the car ride I was calling friends and family members to pray for our son and trying so hard not to think about the worst case scenario. We got to the hospital, I met up with my husband and the two of us stayed with our son while the other couple stayed at my home and took care of our other kiddo (and theirs). They ended up cleaning up the house and helping us out tremendously. Back at the hospital we were waiting for scans to come back and to hear from the doctors when Pastor Noah (the lead pastor at Sufficient Grace) showed up to show his support. He barely knew us, I definitely didn’t expect him to show up at the hospital, but we felt so supported having him there to pray with and talk to. A few hours later we got all of his scans back and he ended up have ZERO injuries! He was completely fine. So we were discharged and went home. The next day we had care packages and meals brought to us from people at Sufficient Grace (and neighbors). I couldn’t believe these people who haven’t even met us yet, were so caring and generous. Now fast forward to 2025 and we are living life alongside them, know many of them deeply and I can honestly say this feels like family. I’ve seen them come alongside to serve other people with no questions in big ways countless times since that 2021 experience. The people are not the reason we chose this church (we put a heavy emphasis on doctrine) BUT their vision for reaching other people for Jesus here and for serving each other- that’s something I want to be a part of.

This was my third time with some of the people and the leaders. Both the people and the leaders loved on me so much it brought me to tears. They also respected who and where I’ve come from, and brought me to tears of joy. This is definitely a church of Holy Spirit filled prayers that get answered. What a sad commentary that its rare to find a church in the NW where the Bible is taught verse by verse rather than topically, "pop-culture-therapy style." The church is small, but dont mistake that for stuffy, formal, or old fashion. Wear jeans or a suit, youll be welcomed just the same! Paster Mike is engaging and teaches the truth of Scripture in a relevant practical way. The singing is a good mix of contemporary with enough traditional to be reminiscent of your youth. Not the first I attended, but what I believe the most sincere to God. The Churches of Christ teach the Bible and why it was given to mankind. They teach FROM the Bible each Sunday, not occasionally. They do not tell you how to live, they tell you what the Bible says about how to live a good life through Gods wisdom and direction. They Truth, what God intended for you to hear; all of it. The Churches of Christ teach it all - because like Jesus, they love the world and wish no one to perish. If you need direction, wisdom and prayer - and love singing as part of worship, visit a Church of Christ near you.
