5 /5 Scott Palmerton: I had heard of this restaurant for several years. Although not too far from my home it was not really on my radar. My misfortune. Bistro San Martin is a small restaurant located in the old downtown area of Arlington. A pleasant sight on its own. The restaurant features a just right menu of Northwest American, with a dash of European flair. I realize that description makes no sense, let me just say that the menu has a decent selection of dishes to fit every palate. This evening we tried a sweet potatoes soup, which had a unique and delicious flavor. We could taste all the ingredients, sweet potato, leeks, sweet corn and more. Fantastic. Pastry puff mushrooms with a tiny added sauce that was very very good. Halibut with an incredible risotto and sweet and sour salsa. Flat iron steak perfectly cooked and flavored. Delicious crab cakes. Too full for desert. Maybe next time. Our server was great. Very knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions. Decor is very nice. Prices reflect a fine dining experience. If you can, go now and go often.
