4 /5 Bubba Rangel: When you walk in, it’s clear this isn’t your typical sit-down restaurant you order at the counter, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. Pretty standard for a college-town spot. My order took about 40 minutes for huli chicken, short ribs, and beef teriyaki.
The food was clearly fresh, though by the time I got home only two blocks away, the meat had cooled off a bit. Still, the chicken was tender, flavorful, and had a nice amount of char that gave it great depth. The beef and short ribs were also delicious and cooked perfectly. The mac salad had overcooked noodles, but that’s fairly common and didn’t ruin the meal.
They could definitely work on streamlining their cooking process to cut down on wait times, but the flavors and portion sizes make up for it. Overall, it was good food and one of the rare times I can honestly say the wait was worth it. I’ll definitely be ordering again.
