My wife and I just moved to the neighborhood. Actually, right around the corner. We made reservations for New Year’s Eve. We were very excited to try our new local restaurant on NYE. We showed up on time in our fancy duds. The ladies at the hostess stand said they did not have our table ready. They also said “they had no Room to wait in the bar area” (we peaked our heads in and they had room). So, they told to wait at a different bar, a couple doors down.
An hour later, no call at all. Needless to say, we felt horrible. New Years/ New to the Neighborhood/ Our New Local Restaurant etc.
I asked my wife, not to go and get upset “let’s just have a positive night”. We walked home and that was that.
Never heard from them.
My recommendation is: Have some consideration for the pre planning that goes into making a New Year’s Eve Restaurant Reservation. Also, boosting up your communication/ Hospitality skills would be great…
