3 /5 Avery Szulewski: My partner and I have been long-time vegans and Ray’s was one of our favorites for their decent vegan menu that was really tasty. We’ve ordered their vegan Philly cheesesteaks multiple times and in the past, Ray’s used vegan meat crumbles and them being $20 each was justifiable. We ordered the same sandwich today and expected it to be the same, but the vegan meat was swapped for refried beans and still costed us $42 total. I don’t think swapping vegan meat for refried beans and still charging the same price is fair or right. There should have at least been something said that the recipe changed or that they may have been out of the usual ingredients. The sandwich was still good, and we still ate them as to not be wasteful, but I’m disappointed because we loved being able to go to shows and still get some tasty bar food and good drinks. Will definitely be taking Ray’s off our take-out list.
