3 /5 Olivia Yates: Overall, we had a good experience, but were a bit disappointed with a couple of the dishes. That being said, the service at the bar was excellent. I weighted the food review heavier than the service and atmosphere.
As far as service, the bar staff was wonderful. My only piece of feedback is that the dishes from the kitchen didnβt feel timed properly. We barely got our drinks before the first dishes arrived and then within a minute we had our mains, which felt crowded and overwhelming at the bar- plus it made the first two dishes rushed.
We had the caprese, carrots, risotto, and bolognese.
The caprese, although super fresh tasting was lacking acid and had underripe peaches. I would have preferred the peaches were skipped or replaced with a ripe fruit.
The carrots were served in a massive portion. I would have expected a third less on the plate, which would have given a much better carrot to topping ratio. This dish was also lacking some acid and a sauce , even EVOO would have helped it feel less dry. The nut and cheese topping tasted great, but added to the dryness of the overall dish.
The risotto was great! Prawns cooked well and the sauces were lovely. Again, a large portion size.
The pasta had great flavor and texture. Although my husband was left feeling a bit sick to his stomach after we left (and this was the dish he primarily ate). This may be unrelated, however itβs the only difference in our meals so I think it may have been the culprit.
