Tyee Restaurant and Hotel - Coupeville (WA)

5 /5 Jason Pryde: Never stayed at the Tyee hotel but I’ve had lunch at the Tyee Restaurant a few times and always felt like I had a good home cooked kind of meal at a very reasonable price. The dining room atmosphere has a strong mid-twentieth century diner vibe. Location is fine in an out of the tourist traffic way. No Puget Sound or Cascade mountain views that Whidbey is famous for but you can always do take-out and have a picnic at Camp Casey Lighthouse park. Overall, I think it’s one of Coupeville’s best kept secrets.

4 /5 Tina Quijas: Booked a last minute room and drove from Southern California to care for a family member. We stayed 4 days at the Tyee. My overall review has some highs and a few lows. Upon arrival, checkin was quick and the bartender who helped us was extremely polite. We stayed in room 6. The room was clean and gave a cabin vibe. The bed was extremely comfortable. The restaurant was so conveniently accessible from the room. The food was amazing as well. From the biscuits and gravy, clam chowder & their yummy fish and chips. The waitress was attentive to our needs. 5 stars for the restaurant. Our only complaints were the water pressure in the shower. If the next door guest is showering, the hot water was not hot and the pressure was low. So we had to time our showers when they weren’t showering. Also, the hotel offers “free WiFi” which is a nice amenity. But….it continues to go off & on and not reliable. There were a couple of days where the loud trucks were heard outside either delivering food to the restaurant or the trash truck was picking up the trash cans. Other than those few lows, this place was great and we will definitely be back. 4.5 Stars for the Motel room.

3 /5 May “Travels with Beastie”: Room 6 bed was horrible. It was so squeaky. Every time you moved it squeaked. Your feet were higher then the rest of your body because it dipped so bad. Did not get much sleep and back hurt all night from bed. Construction workers were out side partying until 12-1 am. Room was clean and everything else was good. Nice people, easy check in.
