Jess Senires The food was definitely NOT bland. The dishes we got were perfectly executed and beautifully plated. We had the duck and the halibut. Both dishes were packed with flavor. Sweet corn and cherry chutney with smoked duck. Delicious and delicate halibut with smoked potatoes, sumac and spicy greens. Outdoor seating was lovely and umbrellas kept us cool. They have an extensive drink menu.
The view is absolutely worth it.

Robert Mador A nice little coffee shop in Coupeville. I stopped in here Saturday morning to get a cup of coffee before I went to my intersection to put up barriers for the “Greening of Coupeville Parade”.
I was impressed with the inside of Sunshine Drip. They had a few tables to sit at, shelves, reminiscent of early grocery stores, filled with treats and miscellany.
They also had several outside tables to sit at to enjoy people watching and the weather.
They had displays of baked goods next to the ordering counter. I even chose to buy a serving of cinnamon coffee cake. Very tasty.
I will try to visit Sunshine Drip again when I have time to sit and relax in their cozy store.

3.Tyee Restaurant and Hotel

Jason Pryde Never stayed at the Tyee hotel but I’ve had lunch at the Tyee Restaurant a few times and always felt like I had a good home cooked kind of meal at a very reasonable price. The dining room atmosphere has a strong mid-twentieth century diner vibe.
Location is fine in an out of the tourist traffic way. No Puget Sound or Cascade mountain views that Whidbey is famous for but you can always do take-out and have a picnic at Camp Casey Lighthouse park.
Overall, I think it’s one of Coupeville’s best kept secrets.

Robert Mador I was in Coupeville on personal business and decided to have lunch at Goldie’s and the Roost. I love pizza and hadn’t sampled any from Goldie’s yet.
The first thing I noticed was all the families enjoying the outside tables. The children were playing ring toss with rope rings and their parents were enjoying the weather and sipping beverages while watching their children enjoy themselves .
Then I walked inside Goldie’s and enjoyed the simple decor. There were two large tables sitting side-by-side and a few smaller tables along the edges of the area.
Upstairs is The Roost and is a 21+ area. I didn’t have much time to explore so I didn’t venture upstairs.
I looked over their menu and chose the Pepperoni pizza for my lunch and decided to have a glass of Pear cider to go with it. It’s been forever since I had a pizza with just pepperoni and I really enjoyed this one. The crust was done nicely, it wasn’t drowning in sauce but there was enough to enjoy the flavor. The pepperoni was crisp and had a nice taste.
If I have a chance to go back and enjoy a longer stay I will have to explore The Roost and see what that is about.

7.Molka Xete
Address: 4 Front St NW, Coupeville, WA 98239

DAN STEPH Street tacos done completely right. From cilantro to chopped white onions, every bite bursts with flavor. The pork tacos were my favorite. Everything is made in-house, and you can tell. Fresh guac with jalapeño, onion, and tomato. Tortillas are handmade and absolutely delicious. The red salsa is bright and fresh, while the green is creamy and spicy (I wanted to drink it). Order a beer, though! The margarita left a bit to be desired, but they absolutely nailed it on the food.

Ashli Hann Cozy little restaurant on the water. Great views, ambiance, service, and food. My husband and I ordered the crab artichoke dip, wagyu steak, and spicy seafood pasta. The wagyu was our favorite! Seasoned and cooked to perfection. Like butter! The pasta was FULL of seafood, and VERY flavorful! They do not skimp on the good stuff here. The garlic toast is the best I’ve had. Would probably be here every week if we lived in the area.

stephanie dodge I was on the island for three days and ate here every day! The quality of the food was exceptional. Fresh ingredients. The turkey Panini was real turkey with a delicious lemon arugula quinoa salad on the side. They love the owners have for this place shows in everything from the food and service to the various lavender merchandise in their shop. A must stop if you are in the area!

Alex Schlesinger Wow, such a great experience! Everyone was so helpful, kind, and easy going. Very reasonably priced, free water proof bags for phones, and fancy kayaks with rudders (most Seattle kayak spots dont have those kind in my experience). The area was beautiful and youre almost guaranteed encounters with seals around the mussel farms. Highly recommend checking them out on your next Whidbey trip!

Sue Frause The main reason I go to Coupeville is to stop and shop at Bayleaf! Great selection of wine, cheese and a myriad of pantry/food items for entertaining at home. Plus cool gifts / cookbooks and yummy baguette sandwiches to go or enjoy on their patio with a glass of vino. Super helpful staff, too. Bob Appetit!

Dawn Lawson We decided to eat at Callen’s for my birthday early dinner. Happy Hour was underway in the bar area, but we opted for the less packed and more quiet dining room. Rayne was an excellent server and we were also promptly served with waters by a friendly young man. Callen’s is definitely a casual place and reminded me of a seaside diner. I opted for the fish and chips and my husband had the sockeye salmon BLTA sandwich. Both were tasty and did not disappoint. We enjoyed our experience and want to return for breakfast sometime.
