5 /5 M Eschen: Lovely small church in Capitol Hill area in a large buliding. The service on Sunday had wonderful worship music accompanied by a piano and the congregation had maybe 30-40 people at it, all sitting at friendy round tables with table cloths to provide a more intimate atmosphere. I was immediately welcomed warmly by several congregants. The service itself was as Christian as any other Ive been to for the past 40 years so Im not sure what the other reviewers heard but I heard a message from the New Testament with a nice interpretation from the lead pastor, Greg. There was time for silent prayer and for community discussion at our tables on a few questions that were shared on the projection system. We had a nice, simple communion service. I spoke with the pastor and some congregants after who were all warm and helpful. Im told theres a choir during the school year. This is a multigenerational church but there arent really young families since this area of town hardly has any young children.
I also went today and helped serve at the Community Lunch they help coordiante with a local non-profit. The people working at it were all amazing and those having meals were respectful and grateful.
Id have to say I certainly felt the love of the Lord in so many ways.
