3 /5 Lisa Nguyen: Mixed Experience: Clean Environment, Friendly Staff, but Inconsistent Quality
I recently visited Charme for the second time, and while there were some aspects I enjoyed, there were also some disappointments.
Positives:
Firstly, I appreciated the cleanliness of the salon and the pleasant ambiance created by their good music selection. The owner exuded friendliness, and it was evident that her regular clients held her in high regard. The presence of a friendly dog added to the welcoming atmosphere, which was a nice touch. Additionally, their booking system was hassle-free, making scheduling a breeze.
My technician was also helpful in assisting me with selecting a polish color, which was appreciated. Additionally, I commend my technician for their professionalism and patience. After I accidentally messed up the polish on my toes, they graciously fixed the issue without displaying any signs of annoyance or frustration. This level of customer service was truly commendable and enhanced my overall impression of the salon.
Negatives:
However, despite these positives, I was left underwhelmed by the quality of the service I received. The paint job on my nails was inconsistent and uneven, with noticeable gaps near the cuticle edges. While I understand that I opted for the bijou manicure with "light cuticle" care, I was surprised to learn that this meant not cutting the cuticles at all, only pushing them back.
Even considering the condition of my cuticles, I expected a more consistent paint application. Moreover, the polish exhibited a few bubbles, which detracted from the overall finish. Its unclear whether this issue stemmed from the type of polish (non-toxic) or the top coat used.
Overall, while I appreciated the positive aspects of my experience at Charme, the inconsistency in the quality of the service left me feeling somewhat dissatisfied. I would recommend clarifying expectations regarding cuticle care and discussing any concerns about polish application with the technician beforehand.
