I asked for the simplest cut. Just remove 1.5 inches around the ears and the back near the neck. She said, “so you still want it over your ears” and I said, “yes”. The girl takes way more off and then uses a razor the whole way around. We never even discussed buzzing the sides. Gave one extra star for her being friendly but come on, listen to the customers requests.
Linhs Hair Salon - Seattle Melissa Luong: I had an amazing experience at this salon! The staff was incredibly professional, honest, and truly detailed in their care. They listened to exactly what I wanted and made sure to explain everything along the way. The customer service was excellent, and I absolutely love my hair! Highly recommend!
Pure Alchemy Salon - Seattle M M: If you want your hair completely butchered and have a hairstylist and owner who blatantly lie to you and continue to screw with you months after dealing with them, go here. I went to Tisha and if she had admitted up front that she was unable to do what I asked for, that would have been fine and I wouldn’t have proceeded. But at no point did she say or give ANY indication she couldn’t do what I asked for after I showed the pics of what I wanted, which was a milk tea colored full balayage. Instead, I was left with an all-over blotchy orange and yellow bleach job and told that it just looked orangey because of the lighting in the salon. At that point I had been there for hours, was exhausted and had to go to the airport so I stupidly paid with a generous tip. After seeing how awful it looked in clear lighting and once I returned home, I contacted the stylist and then the owner to ask for a refund as I live out of town and could not return for a correction. The salon owner Amy Colleen Oswald admitted that what I was given was badly done and not what I asked for at all. I was completely civil and polite in my request and thanked her for understanding. Then the stylist Tisha refused to refund me and the owner reneged on what she had told me and said she couldn’t do anything about it. They then agreed to a partial refund after telling me hair salons never give refunds (load of bs, do not believe this, I know hairstylists and friends in other states and after talking to them they said this is an utter lie considering what I was let with) The owner agreed to pay part of it after condescending to me and telling me a sob story about how I was taking money away from her personally after she had spent so much on Christmas. Even after all that, I let it go and thanked her for the money she said she’d send. She didn’t send it for weeks until I reminded her. I’ve now had to pay twice as much as their original ridiculous expensive price to get a color correction and even more to purchase multiple products to try to deal with the damage, but it cannot be fixed and I will need to cut a significant amount off for it to look healthy again. According to the owner Amy, the paltry in comparison refund they sent to me is “more than fair” despite all this. After years spent growing out my hair to this length. Now, the owner has the audacity to be contesting the refund money she sent to me on PayPal saying she made no such transaction. So while I was willing to not give you horrible people a bad review despite you screwing me over entirely financially, that certainly isn’t the case anymore and I will be reviewing you everywhere and telling everyone I know in Seattle about my experience. Pics below, three pics of my hair after it was done, three of the example photos I showed her for the color I wanted. This salon is a joke, stay far away.
Seattle Hair Studio - Seattle Philicia Saephan: My son got a haircut by Tao. She did an amazing job, very friendly and so talented! I cant believe the haircut was only $15, she has great quality cuts for that price. The lady who took my payment gave me a glare when I didnt leave a tip on my payment, so that was obvious...but of course I left a $10 tip in cash for Tao. Anywho, I recommend Tao she was great. Kingway Hair Salon - Seattle Keith D: Dont go here with a POOR ATTITUDE or try to scam a free haircut. Ive been there about 100 times and theyve always done a great job. If you treat people well they will treat you well.
Its not worth it to set an appointment just try to go there when there arent 3 or more people waiting in the lobby.
Owner Jenny paid for beautiful artwork on her building to STOP THE GRAFFITI.
She and her staff really care about the entire neighborhood.
Everyone works extremely hard here. Ive known this place for almost a decade.
Maybe you dont go on a Saturday morning because its really busy and of course REGULARS go first like every other business Ive been to.
Their MENs haircut is $15 cant be beat. I was paying $40 at Sports Clips for a really bad haircut and a hot face towel after tingly shampoo.
Here they ALL take the extra time to make sure you get a complete haircut. Its only $5 more to get your hair washed and its also very relaxing.
Be generous with TIPPING because thats why the OWNER sets extremely fair prices.
I dont speak VIETNAMESE but just being nice, smiling and asking the HAIRDRESSERS if theyre having a good day is all you need.
Mens haircut go better if you know what kind of cut you need.
If they recommend 3 on the sides and 4 on top, I can also just say go 2 for the whole haircut.
If you ever have a concern just ask Jenny she has never failed to make it right for me or any other customer Ive seen.
Antonio Salon - Seattle R Rickel: Noelle did an amazing job with my haircut! She gave me the perfect layers that look great without styling—exactly what I needed for my busy daily routine. She kept the length while making my hair feel fresh and light, and she left my bangs long enough to pull back for workouts. I haven’t curled it yet, but the cut feels well-balanced and should style beautifully for my elopement. Highly recommend her for a thoughtful, practical, and stylish cut!
Falali Hair Salon - Seattle Brenda Bui: Olivia did such a great job cutting my hair. The hair wash was relaxing, and they always do a great job with adding the layers exactly how I had wanted. She also gave some helpful styling tips and the workers there are always super nice. Definitely would recommend!
Salon Refine - Seattle Noelle Nelson: Emily did an incredible job cutting and styling my hair. She gave me a short, cute, fun and healthy looking cut that Im absolutely in love with. Theres so many ways for me to style it if I choose to, but also easy to just wake up and go. My curls are thriving with this new cut and Ive already gotten so many compliments. Will definitely come back whenever Im in Seattle next.
Minh DC Hair salon - Seattle Kim Nguyen: I recently had my hair highlighted, and I couldnt be more impressed with the results! Minh, the stylist did an outstanding job, taking his time to ensure every detail was perfect. He was very attentive and made sure to take extra care with my hair, which made me feel confident and comfortable throughout the process. The highlights turned out beautifully, giving my hair a natural, sun-kissed look. I truly appreciated his professionalism and the way he took the time to listen to what I wanted. Highly recommend!
Sensa Salon - Seattle Wylie Bird: I absolutely love Sensa! I’ve been coming for years and always have an incredible experience, especially most recently with Tiffany. She’s simply amazing—her expertise and care make every visit memorable and I always leave feeling beautiful. Cant say enough good things about Sensa.
