  • What Clients Are Saying about Hope Community Church (on GG)
5 /5 Abby Dyck: Hope is a fantastic, Christ-centered church! The preaching is faithful to Gods Word and always keeps the Gospel central. I am so thankful to be able to call Hope my church family!
5 /5 Jack Fuller: Really good church with a solid elder and teaching body, their Disability ministry is doing well and their community is loving. Member Evangelical Free Church of America, they have good doctrine and are very humble. Their youth group is amazing for those with middle and high school-aged kids, would highly recommend as a church home.
2 /5 Nia Bennett: This church although my first spiritual home was nearly a nightmare. I was a foster child along with a few of my foster siblings, a few families at this church made it apparent that we were not welcome. My sister and I made every effort to fit in and hang out with children at the church but when we did parents were extremely reluctant with us. My sister and I being only little kids felt as though we were not worthy of hanging out with these “Christian kids” because they viewed us as corrupted. I know the stigma that follows a foster child can be a bit unnerving but you would think they would at least attempt to keep that viewpoint unnoticed. The Bible teachings at this church are accurate but the actions of some not all church members are diminishing.
5 /5 Chaz E: Pastor Aaron is immersed in the discernment of the Word of God. When he interprets what is in the Bible, you feel like a theologian when he completes his sermon. This church isn’t for empty Christians, it’s for Christians that wear the armor of God and are not afraid of the persecutions that come from having been clothed in the sacrifice of Christ.
5 /5 Rachael Jones: Been attending this church for about 6 years and have loved it. The people here are amazing and they take Gods word seriously but also understand we are people who are prone to sin. The community is supportive and encouraging to continue growing in your walk with God.

St Johns Episcopal Church - Olympia
Kathleen: Im not a religious person, but we were invited by a neighbor who is the musical director of this church to watch a show, The Lute Legends Collective. This group is comprised of three musicians from different cultures each playing the version of the lute that came about in each culture. The three performers were Chinese, Palestinian, and Canadian, and they not only played, but they also shared information enjoy the history of how a common instrument, the lute, evolved in each country. They had played at Benny Royal Hall the night before, so this was indeed a unique opportunity to see this caliber of performance in our community. The church is also progressive and welcoming to all, which is in line with my morals and values. This made it comfortable to participate, knowing everyone is equally valued and welcome.
Grace Community Covenant Church - Olympia
Hans Funk: This is the first church in 9 years that I have almost immediately felt like I could call home. The worship team is one of the most diverse and eclectic groups I have ever heard, truly gifted and anointed - they play wonderful music. The messages I have heard really seem to come from the heart, and the congregation shares their prayer requests openly in service. Truly a welcoming, relaxed, and inviting atmosphere of community.

Thomas: When I first began attending services, I was taken in by the friendliness of the congregation, its childrens moment/message during the service, and its incredible and robust music ministry (praise team, choir, and bell choir immediately come to mind). These are the elements that truly unite everyone and keep me attending (for now). While I am still attending services for now, it is very disturbing to hear the weekly messages/sermons. While God/Jesus is mentioned (seemingly in passing), it is not the main focus. There is far more mention of/ emphasis placed on political messages and comes across as a political push and/ or to place blame on certain societal demographics. The last truly uniting message was for Christmas 2022 (even the Easter message 2023 had numerous outright political mentions). There tends to be a fine line between faith and politics. The weekly messages have mostly crossed that line. Please focus on the UNITED in United Methodist, and on praising God and Jesus throughout the weekly messages, instead of dividing His Kingdom through the use of political rhetoric.

Olympia First Baptist Church - Olympia
Rumni Catalano: Came here for the free meal on Sunday’s. Been here twice. Just had a kind conversation with a woman from North Carolina. I was thinking about how valuable These volunteers are. They should be getting paid to do the charity service they are providing for the homeless on sundays. It’s pretty crowded, busy, and loud but the resource for homeless is more than virtuous from what I’m noticing the two weeks I’ve been here. Please treat this place right, they are too kind.! ❤️❤️❤️
