5 /5 Brian Bennett: I have been walking the Illahee Preserve for the last five years and have walked there in all four seasons. I went there recently on Saturday afternoon in June. The weather was mild and cloudy with a temperature of 60°. I did my favorite walk around the perimeter of the park and did not encounter a single person on the trails. The park is five minutes from my home and adjacent to one of the busiest commercial corridors in the county. It is an absolute gem. The trails are meticulously maintained and well marked with location signs. This is my go to place for both my mental and physical health. Thank you to all of the organizations and volunteers who created and care for this resource. How lucky we are to have it in our community.

2 /5 Jim Allison: This is one of the most confusing trail systems I have ever seen. They need to put some signs to direct people. My 70+ year old wife and I got lost in that maze of trails and ended up over a mile and a half away from the parking lot. How about spending a little money on better directions and signage up there.

5 /5 David Pielick: What a great park. All the trails are underneath the canopy of trees; with just a sprinkle of sun rays peeking through. Most of the trails are flat, which makes for an easy walk. From parking lot to parking lot is less than 2 miles. It wasn’t crowded when I went. I definitely will be back.

5 /5 April Marie: Love it! Wooded, cushiony woodchipped trails. You can go on a rainy day and not get wet. The trail branches off a lot so there are lots of ways to wander. Great running trail. I had no issues taking the baby in the jogging stroller. Make sure you have a map or your phone

South Kitsap Regional Park - Port Orchard

Mary Shams: Such a nice little park. It has a really great adventure trail so you can take kids for a walk in the woods and theres plenty to keep them entertained. I love how this park is usually pretty empty. Theres also a nice covered picnic area and soccer fields as well!

Log Cabin Museum - Port Orchard

Mariah Ham: The view from that hill is awesome. We went for there FREE pictures with Santa. A beautifully decorated tree near a warm fire place and a vintage bench seat with Santa, who has a real beard and plays the role. You bring your own camera, if you want to be in the photo they are happy to help. Quant cute little cabin that has events year round.

Noel Tiongson: Bring the kids to the park right on the water. Enjoy a well maintained paved trail. Perfect for roller blading, skate boarding, walking your dog, bicycling, ect. Feel the nice cool breeze on skin. Listen to the waves. Watch the birds. Stop by one of the local bars or restaurants. Perfect place to unwind and relax.

Veterans Living History Museum - Port Orchard

Yvonne Gal-Van: This is an impressive private collection of Military memorabilia. Dale met us at the door and was so welcoming and kind. We hung out for about 30 minutes. He walked us through the collection and he told us stories about the items, the folks and about the related conflict or war. Dale is a wealth of historical knowledge. I cant believe how much he knows and remembers. This is one of those places that every time you visit, Im sure you will find something new to talk about or see. A must visit for anyone that enjoys military history. Date of experience: August 2024

Priscilla: One of the coolest experiences you can ever do in Port Orchard. The train ride is absolutely beautiful. We took our 6 month old. She absolutely loved it. If you do have a little one remember to bring a baby carrier. That way your little one can go on with you. It’s one of the rules.

Howe Farm County Park - Port Orchard

Mazzetta Marco: I recently visited Howe Farm County Park and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The park is beautiful and well-maintained. The dog park was one of the coolest Ive ever seen. The dense forest trail provided a unique and exciting experience for both myself and my furry friend. It was a great opportunity for my dog to explore new sights and smells, and we both enjoyed walking through the trees. In addition to the forest trail, the dog park also had a big field where the dogs could run around. The size of the park was also impressive - there was plenty of space for all the dogs to play without feeling cramped or crowded. I would highly recommend Howe Farm County Park to anyone looking for a great dog park experience. The combination of the forest trail and big field make it a unique and exciting destination that is sure to please both dogs and their owners. Five stars all around!

Halls Hill Lookout and Labyrinth - Bainbridge Island

Nicole White: A hidden gem of a park. Very tranquil and reflective place to meditate, walk the labyrinth, and soak in the nature around you. Not much parking so go during low crowds. It was a beautiful day when we stopped by.
