Sea Mar Skagit Valley Womens Health - Mount Vernon Sara: I was a patient at this clinic in 2021 while pregnant with my 1st child. I didn’t realize until now, being pregnant with my 2nd child, and under the care of a Virginia Mason clinic, what terrible care I received here. At the time, I had nothing to compare the experience to, but now, looking back, I realize I was treated so poorly by Dr. Allam.
I was around 200lbs when I got pregnant with my daughter, and like most people in Washington state, I was a recreational cannabis user, but stopped as soon as I found out I was pregnant. Those 2 things automatically put me in the “high risk” category, and between that classification, and the fact that I was a Medicaid patient, I ultimately received the bare bones treatment, and was given little to no consent on the type of care I received. (I am around the same BMI now, and my midwife at my new clinic is not classifying me as high risk)
At my 1st ultrasound appt, Dr. Allam assumed she would not be able to see my baby with a transabdominal US, and automatically shoved the vaginal probe inside of me with very little warning or care. At my new clinic, the tech told me she would only do transvaginal if absolutely necessary, and it turned out she had a perfectly clear view of the baby through the transabdominal scan.
I was given limited information at every appt, and basically made to feel like a fat POS who was risking my unborn child at every appt, despite the fact that I had a completely uncomplicated pregnancy— no adverse symptoms, no preeclampsia, no gestational diabetes— and delivered a healthy, full term baby at 39 weeks vaginally.
Post partum care was a joke. The doctors at Sea Mar really don’t seem to care about their patients well-being or preferences at all. And as I go through the clinical notes for all my appts for that pregnancy, I see several times where they blatantly lied, like in my after birth visit where I told them I was struggling with milk production, and the doctor wrote “no issues with breast feeding.”
I am so glad to have double insurance coverage and was able to select better OB care this time around, because looking back, my experience with Sea Mar was terrible.
Skagit Regional Health - Little Mountain Pediatrics - Mount Vernon Kilee Samora: After being purchased by skagit regional health I scheduled both of my children for their first wellness visits following the buy out. I then received a bill for an additional copay and office visit at the same time as their fully covered wellness exam. I spoke with billing and they proceeded to tell me that due to me answering the questions about his past historical medical concerns, “that I brought up,” it was then considered an office visit regarding a problem and therefore is an office call fee on top of the wellness visit charge. Safe to say after six years with this office, I will be looking for a new pediatricians office. Very unfortunate given the circumstances.
Family Care Network - North Cascade Family Physicians - Mount Vernon ashley hernandez: From the friendly front desk, to the amazing medical assistant Haley and the provider Amanda! We couldn’t be happier with care we received today. Haley was so personable and patient with my girls. She is an amazing medical assistant and I can tell she loves what she does! Amanda was personable and easy to talk to, she was honest and thorough and my girls loved her as well. I love that family care network still has the personal touch that the bigger corporation physicians don’t.
