Steve Kanaga: Trust is everything. Especially when it comes to trusting someone to give you good customer service, and the right advice. Neither one of these took place when I entrusted Wilde Automotive to diagnose my situation. Around 5/9/2025 I took my Mazda in to find out why the AC belt broke. I was told it was due to the compressor being locked up, with the repair estimate of around $2,100. Heres the troubling part. I needed the belt replaced for now so as to still be able to drive the car (AC Belt also drives the alternator as well), but was told that the compressor was locked up making this impossible. I was also told that the AC clutch pulley would spin, but due to the compressor needing to cycle on and off occasionally, (even with the electrical plug disconnected) it would destroy the new belt as well. Fast forward to 5/13/2025. A second opinion was obtained from a mechanic who owned his own repair shop for 28 years, will call him "Andy", who told me that I had been misled due to the lack of knowledge from the previous mechanic. Indicating that once the compressor is unplugged from power, the compressor will no longer cycle or function. Needless to say, the new belt is on and functioning properly until I can replace the AC compressor. As customers that bring our vehicles to repair shops in hopes of getting an honest, fair and trustworthy answer concerning the needed repairs, only to be misled and lied to due to lack of experience and/or judgment, will only lead customers to other reputable repair businesses.

Update: Another shop wanted $3,800 to replace my transmission in my 2003 Honda Odyssey. I took it to SAC and they replaced it, asking with my timing belt and water pump for $3,325. The fix was quick and my van runs great.

Cassandra: I highly recommend this place! I have a 1986 toyota which had been running rough and trouble starting. this was a chronic problem which kept worsening. Other mechanics said my car is old and so its not going to run well. I brought it to this place twice but couldnt replicate the problem, but Phil told me i had the original ignition wiring, so my car had never had a tune-up. they did one and its like a totally different car- no problem starting or sputtering. I think i can get more years out of my beloved old car because of these gentlemen! Courteous, honest, and reasonably priced for the work done.

I also suspect they went ahead and fixed a whining sound that had been bothering me as it dissapeared after coming back. Best garage in town!
