Geoff Winslow: Brought my sailboat to the mooring balls on the NW side of the island this weekend. Moorings were available and well-spaced, and a nice short dinghy ride to the beach. Just be careful of high tide - theres not a lot of room to bring your dinghy up higher than the highest tide, so tie it off. Hiking trails were very nice and the area was well protected from southerlies blowing as well.

Dean Dan: La Conner is a wonderful place to visit! During the spring and summer seasons the ambience is filled with food and music. During the fall, the foliage bursts with color.

Sarah McCarthy: A really beautiful little park. A nice place for a picnic under the trees or for the kids to run around on the grass. Its a small park, not much else to do, but the walls are such cool works of art. Definitely worth a visit!

Maggie Stende: We didnt know this viewing area existed and pretty much stumbled upon it. Great views of the water, town of Anacortes from a nice, high vantage point. The park has been recently re-done with seating areas, walkways, and railings to make for safe viewing.
John Storvik Playground - Anacortes

Emily Velasquez: I was so amazed. It was huge and unique and charming. My 2.5 year old loved the big kid side and the tot lot, as well as the splash pad that of course didn’t have water in it in November. It could use some paint, but I hope they never tear it out for something bigger and better! I love how there clearly was painting done by community members and I loved how the playground itself has parts that were the mountain, or boat, or car, or the sound with whales.
