Van Dorens Landing Park - Kent (WA)

5 /5 severyn polakiewicz: Amazing park for creating a community - the designers knew what they were doing. Theres spaces for gathering, a lookout tower, pickleball court, and large open fields. Did I mention a zipline?! Safe and peaceful. The parking lot is accessible from the south via Russell Rd.

5 /5 Kelly Phelps: Well the mens bathroom could be cleaner, although soap dispenser was filled on last visit. Great park otherwise! Pics of trails and some fishing spots for those interested. The mushrooms are unidentified though yellow and growing out of rotting wood tells me dangerous. Beautiful trails and plenty of rabbits too.

5 /5 Darren J: It is a hidden gem along the Green River Trail. The only car access is off of 228th St. The city of Kent recently updated the entire park. It has two large covered picnic areas, restrooms, a large play area for the kids, an overlook tower, lots of paved trails for kids to ride bikes, and plenty of open spaces to walk dogs. The only downside is the lack of shade for any of the benches or the playground area. Not a single bench is in the shade or has a tree planted by it that might provide shade in the future. I have talked with Kent Parks before on this subject. They dont think of planting trees to the south and west of the play areas to shade them during the hot parts of the day. I realize it would take several years before the trees to provide ample shade, but this idea isnt considered.

5 /5 Shahbaz Nadir: Google maps initially took me to the wrong location across the river, where its not possible to park. The correct parking location is an 8 min drive. The park looks quite new and is a really good one. It has river and tubing access as well 4 different observation towers and a few trails. There is a playground, toilet, pickle ball court, and a baseball field too. Plenty of parking. Picnic areas.

5 /5 Hank Stephens: Ive really only passed through the park while walking on the Green River trail. The park is very new. Theres a nice kids playground and an interesting observation tower. Theres a second observation tower at the north end of the park also. If you are a bird watcher, the northern tower is probably the better one. Theres a nice pedestrian bridge to cross the Green River at the south end of the park. The bridge takes you to Frager Road. Dogs have to be on-leash in the park, but I let mine off his leash on Frager Road with no issues. I have parked at Van Dorens Landing Park. That was on an overcast and cool Sunday in May. There were only a couple of other people there, but it does get busier on nice days.
