Kenneth: I have mixed feelings about this park. I grew up in the city and I have been coming here with my father. Now that I am a father I wanted to bring my kids here but because of all the homelessness in the neighborhood it is kind of tough to do so. The jail is right up the street so occasionally you will have pretty shady people walking around the street. This has always been a hotspot for fishing as a salmon swim up this Creek. Even as a kid I remember fishing this River with my pops.
I guess its becoming a little bit more tougher to go anywhere and not see the town getting a little bit more dirtier and less regulated. I wish the local government would spend a little bit more money on cleaning up the parks.
Emily Collins: As of about Oct 5th 2024 (probably before this date as well), they have had construction on the lower parking lot. I visited a few weeks ago, and they had the lower parking completely blocked, but the road up to the top parking was open. However, I went back last week on a weekday, and the entire park was blocked off. The road/parking was completely closed, and the trails had cones across them. No signs were posted about the closure, and we literally could not tell it would be closed at all from the Google Maps page.
Normally, this is a very pretty park. It has a viewing tower at the top and an old tunnel that is open now.
I would avoid this area at night for safety. Its fine during the day, just a bit sketchy at night.
Vanessa Dunlap: This place is very fascinating. My family and I went to the FIG and The Lightcatcher museum too. Reasonable ticket prices that allow you to go to all three museums. 100% recommended visiting here! You will learn a ton.
Jake Logan: Lots of fun things go on here depending on the time of year. Telescopes, saxophones, swimming, slack-lining, but it’s always beautiful and always a good place to incorporate into a walk of the waterfront.
Phoenix Olver: Nice people, helpful information. Cute place. Clean restrooms. Organized stuff. Helpful staff. Everything you would need to know about Bellingham they know and will help you. So kind to kids and understand disabilities. Super kind and lovely staff
Alexander Robino: Every parents savior on a rainy day. Fun place with a variety of things for the kids to explore. There are places for adults to sit here and there. A small section is available for the smaller ones/overwhelmed toddlers. There are often arts and crafts. Grateful to have a place like this in the community. Reasonable price for what you get!
Carefree Spas: Interesting park on Bellinghams waterfront with salmon jumping out of the nearby Whatcom Waterway, Lummi Island was visible in the distance. The Acid Ball is a super cool industrial relic originally used in wood pulp processing. Great outdoor concert venue here and mini golf.
Emma Swanson: One of my favorite spots in Bellingham. I love coming here and setting up a hammock to read. It can get busy during sunset so if you want the sunset views come early on a nice weather day. Some days you get lucky and have it basically to yourself.
