Kenneth: I have mixed feelings about this park. I grew up in the city and I have been coming here with my father. Now that I am a father I wanted to bring my kids here but because of all the homelessness in the neighborhood it is kind of tough to do so. The jail is right up the street so occasionally you will have pretty shady people walking around the street. This has always been a hotspot for fishing as a salmon swim up this Creek. Even as a kid I remember fishing this River with my pops. I guess its becoming a little bit more tougher to go anywhere and not see the town getting a little bit more dirtier and less regulated. I wish the local government would spend a little bit more money on cleaning up the parks.

Emily Collins: As of about Oct 5th 2024 (probably before this date as well), they have had construction on the lower parking lot. I visited a few weeks ago, and they had the lower parking completely blocked, but the road up to the top parking was open. However, I went back last week on a weekday, and the entire park was blocked off. The road/parking was completely closed, and the trails had cones across them. No signs were posted about the closure, and we literally could not tell it would be closed at all from the Google Maps page. Normally, this is a very pretty park. It has a viewing tower at the top and an old tunnel that is open now. I would avoid this area at night for safety. Its fine during the day, just a bit sketchy at night.
