Kathleen Tutu ma.: Stunning, heartwarming, colorful exhibit resonating love of family and country. The moment I saw this local artists exhibit in the Skagit Herald I knew I was planning a "date day" with my husband. I found these paintings so exciting and familiar to Hawaiian artist Yvonne Cheng, yet Mr. Guillens art is bursting with warmth and color even Ms. Cheng at times struggles to capture. These paintings brought back loads of great memories of the Merida community and the people at the hacienda of Santa Rosa. His family must be so proud and Im grateful for the folks who allowed their Jesus Guillen art to be shared at the museum. Fantastically displayed!! Mahalo!

Karin Kersteter: A beautiful park filled with native plants next to a clear, gurgling Friday Creek. Spend some time there just soaking it in. It is beautiful in all seasons, and even in the rain. They did a great job making winding paths that allow you to walk for quite a bit, all the while you are pretty close to the parking lot.

Geoff Winslow: Brought my sailboat to the mooring balls on the NW side of the island this weekend. Moorings were available and well-spaced, and a nice short dinghy ride to the beach. Just be careful of high tide - theres not a lot of room to bring your dinghy up higher than the highest tide, so tie it off. Hiking trails were very nice and the area was well protected from southerlies blowing as well.
