2 /5 Dave Sherman: I feel a little bad about leaving a negative review because I didnt leave a positive one for all the times they got it right.
With that said this was my favorite thrift store I would go at least once or twice a week, the staff was always pleasant and nice to deal with prices were good and products seemed pretty good as well. So recently I bought a Amazon Alexa and took it home to set it all up and I couldnt get it to work so I called customer service and they informed me that if its registered to the previous owner then nobody else will be able to register until they unregister. Ive never returned anything there and I figured this time it probably needs to be returned so I went in and spoke with the manager a nice young lady told her what the problem is and I let her know and in-store credit would be fine by me and she proceeded to tell me without a receipt theres nothing they can do which I found that a little bit upsetting because I shouldnt have had that receipt in the first place I shouldnt have been able to buy that from them in the first place its their job to know what theyre selling and they didnt know about prior registration and nor did I but I think the fault would be on the business not the customer. I didnt make up the scenario to try to sneak one over on them and get five bucks where it wasnt due it the echo even had their sticker on it it shows that it came from them. I mentioned to the manager gal that I thought that was kind of ridiculous considering the situation they created and if they werent going to make this right then I would no longer be shopping at Community Thrift and that they lost a good customer and she said sorry nothing I could do. For $5 they lost a customer who maybe spends around $20-30.00 each week and gained a poor review. Like I said it was my favorite place to go and this is one mistake out of 100s of positive visits, but such is life we always get remembered for the negative things and the things we screwed up on and not all the things we got right. In this case manager did not get it right.
